Since everyone else is posting on this subject today (based upon the number of postings thus far), I thought I would chime in as well.

Anyone else not interested in the least about Empire, 'less of course if your talking about the Star Wars Imperium?

Plynkes20 Dec 2010 3:17 p.m. PST

You idiots are ruining this site. You realise that, don't you?

It stopped being funny before it even started.

Top Gun Ace20 Dec 2010 3:53 p.m. PST

You do get that I don't like all the Empire posts as well, don't you?

Plynkes20 Dec 2010 4:04 p.m. PST

Then why, for Heaven's sake, did you add to the madness?

Would you protest against pollution by dumping oil in the sea?

How do I get rid of all these Empire posts?

Paul Hurst20 Dec 2010 4:34 p.m. PST

Plynkes,

Save your breath – the idiots didn't get their way, and are making sure that they destroy any meaningful use of the new Empire board with their pathetic postings.

I hope Bill DH's the whole fecking lot of them for 30 days at least!

The poll was won by the 'NO' vote. But the board was created anyway – live with it. In any normal vote the winners would have the final say in the poll, but they didn't. I actually voted 'yes' but was beaten fair and square by the 'no' votes. But then we had "Bill's house, Bill's rules" in action – live with it, and grow up!

John the OFM20 Dec 2010 6:31 p.m. PST

Bill told us "Use it or lose it". Since we respect the anti-democratic nature of the Poll so much, we are doing our best to make sure it stays.

Anyway…
I remember you saying "You're not the boss of me!" once or twice, Plynkes.
I have often said that as far as I am concerned, the sole purpose of TMP is to amuse me. Thus, this is what I do.

…live with it, and grow up!

Speaking as one of the principal idiots, I will continue to do what I do until it no longer amuses me.
Thank you for the advice, though.

I hope Bill DH's the whole fecking lot of them for 30 days at least!

I would be curious to know what TMP rule or FAQ we idiots have broken. Please do tell.

390 "No" votes to 49 "Yes" votes as of the time and date of this posting. TMP readership is overwhelmingly against the Empire Board. Why have a poll if the results are ignored? It isn't even a close vote!

Paul Hurst20 Dec 2010 7:03 p.m. PST

"390 "No" votes to 49 "Yes" votes as of the time and date of this posting."

And thus the board should not have been created. But Bill has other ideas – "Bill's house, Bill's rules".

"TMP readership is overwhelmingly against the Empire Board."

No, the "no" voters are against the board, and won the poll. But Bill has other ideas – "Bill's house, Bill's rules".

"Why have a poll if the results are ignored? It isn't even a close vote!"

Well, you could always get Bill to answer your questions on TMP Talk (the place to talk about TMP..duh!), instead of screwing with the Empire board.

Condottiere20 Dec 2010 7:14 p.m. PST

No, wrong. The poll is a good sampling of the TMP readership. So, TMP readership *is* overwhelmingly against the Empire Board.

Besides, Empire is hardly played any longer, at least in the US. I can see having separate boards for a popular game such as Flames of War, of GW games. But Empire?

Top Gun Ace20 Dec 2010 7:15 p.m. PST

Empires never last, and some are always plotting to bring them down.

Condottiere20 Dec 2010 7:17 p.m. PST

PS-why aren't there any serious Empire topics started? Use it or lose it, I think was what Bill said somewhere recently.

Okay for the sake of argument here is a list of the current topics on the board. As with the Asian Warfare board Bill could transfer the old Empire postings from Napoleonics boards over here as well. Seem most of the topics are valid but there are always a few who have to contribute to the maddness.
