28mmMan threw down the gauntlet here TMP link and after discusion with him here is a WIP thread for all open competition entries. So to kick things off here is my GZG IF styled fleet from sprue and sheet plastic. I started with a battleship picture picture picture picture Then 4 destroyers, lost the first couple of pics due to a camera issue picture and next to the BB picture Then a second battleship a heavy cruiser and 2 light cruisers picture picture picture and finally a carrier picture picture picture picture Not sure if 28mmMan want the finished pic when painted on this thread or if we should start a new one for that as well, guess it depends on the judging criteria, no doubt he will let us know. Woah there, Toaster! Let the rest of us catch up!!! (Love what you've done so far, by the way – remind me of B5 Centari designs.) |

Nice job! I think its the little details from the small pieces of sheet plastic that really make these models work for me. I bet they'll look even better once they're painted up. |

Yes Martin the GZG IF are a "not centari" design, one of my reasons for making them was so that they could do double duty as opponents for my Narn fleet (although I refuse to paint them purple and gold). Robert |

Oh boy! Toaster, outdone yourself on this occasion – very well done, and will have to look to my laurels with my "between wars" NAC designs now . . . |

Well, you lot did inspire me to get off my duff and start filling up the album Apple in its infinite wisdom chose to replace my blog with: link
Lots more on the way, including a refit of the Fenris, a battle cruiser I built for Silent Death over fifteen years ago and that is sorely in need of repairs and a refit!

Those two golden ships are beautiful, Leland. Details of their construction? |

"Those two golden ships are beautiful, Leland. Details of their construction?" Those were two of my playtest fleet for War Rockets. The larger started out as some GI Joe toy I picked up at a garage sale. Some plastic beads and 1/144 scale underwing ordinance later
The other was a drop tank from a jet aircraft model, plus some smaller of same, sheet plastic wings and wall anchors for engines. Comes from watching the old 1930s vintage Flash Gordon serials as a kid growing up in the SF Bay Area (ie., Creature Features hosted by Bob Wilkins every Friday night!)

Ok I have a few days without direct mission applied just yet, so I am going to make some movement on my entry in the open portion of this little event. I am using these picture as my primary base forms for my 15mm ship. I have not picked the direction or what part these will be, I will in the next day or so
most likely as a nacelle. We have another month in this little contest so that leaves plenty of time. |

Leeland, I see you have some Aquarians from Starfleet Wars/Galactic Knights in your gallery as well. Nice job! |
