A bit of bragging because I grabbed some shots last night. 10,000 points of Marines that I've painted over the last two years. The army's not "done" yet (still like to do some more air and a titan unit) but this coming year will see me working on 'nids so they won't see too much attention. Fun Fact: With the exception of the Titans and Battle Barge this army fit in a small network card box before I built it. picture picture picture picture picture picture picture picture |

very nice work – looks great as a complete force, and individually nicely painted too. I look forward to seeing what you do with the bugs! Cheers, Paul. |

Thanks guys. I hoping to find some shortcuts with an airbrush on the bugs. It'll probably have twice as many units as this army. |

I did a company of Dark Angels in 6mm myself. It was pretty nice to paint and the figures are so inexpensive that I can't understand why everyone doesn't have a marine army for Epic, or at least in 6mm. For $20 USD you pretty much have an army. Nice work! |

Ya, the infantry is certainly cheep. Unfortunately the metal has gone up considerably in the past 2-3 years to (on average) $20 USD a blister. It's really ridiculous to pay that for 3-4 tanks when companies like DRM, EW and PBG is selling a comparable amount of metal for 1/2 that at most, and GZG for 1/5 to 1/6. I'm not saying that you can't find good deals (what's above is probably over $800 USD but I doubt I payed more than $200 USD after trades and what not) but GW definitely turns away a lot of perspective SG gamers due to their prices. |

Nice job on those. I've been getting the bug to do more 6mm and have been pulling my old stuff out of storage. Hopefully there will be enough to field just about any faction
though I think I'm short on orks. Who makes good space ork proxy vehicles for Epic? |
Farstar | 07 Dec 2010 5:44 p.m. PST |
There is really not much else in 6mm out there that has that orky post-apocalyptic look to it, that I've seen. |

Great Army. Do you have buddies who can field an opposing force of that size? None of mine can nor can I. |
The Epic Gamer | 08 Dec 2010 6:32 a.m. PST |
@voice Your best bet for cheap Ork vehicle proxies are to convert up some SM/TL Rhinos and Battlewagons. There's quite a few examples in TacComms Epic 6mm forum, amongst some other things you might like (if you know where to look). @Allen Locally most guys can do a few armies of around 5k, and we've probably got a few 10k armies made out of mostly titans. We play at 3k though so all those extra points are for flexibility in force construction. |

Yes, go to the Tac Cmd link that I posted, that is the site that Epic Gamer speaks of

There are a lot of Space Marine vehicles in plastic that can still be had if you look, rhinos and land raiders. I have a bunch of them as well as some razor backs and vindicators, not plastic. But I bet I spent far less than $100 USD on the whole army. I don't have any planes though. |
The Epic Gamer | 08 Dec 2010 8:54 a.m. PST |
Ya, the old plastics are a great deal. The Whirlwind hulls can be converted into most of the SM tanks pretty easily too. |

Great looking army, pity we are not near I could give you a game with my Orks picture picture picture picture I've always wondered whether I should base my vehicles or not. Regards Pablo '66' |

That is a crap-ton of Gargants
=O I bet you've got plenty of players around you in Manchester, there's more than a few on TacComms. I base the vehicles to protect and transport them easier (the bases are all magnetic). Aesthetically, I think they tie in better with the infantry that way too. |
