are there any companies that sell in the US Peter Pig or Eureka figs? I was thinking about picking some up, but prefer to not get them from overseas if possible.

I've had GREAT service from Eureka USA, and have had great service ordering Peter Pig direct from Peter Pig.

Only that Eureka's 15mm WW2 tend to cover subjects not readily available from other sources. So Ghurkas but no WW2 Germans.

Do you mean Essex 15mm Germans? Essex makes Germans but not Eureka.

aecurtis Fezian06 Dec 2010 6:19 p.m. PST

Eureka makes these:

I've never dealt with Brookhurst by mail because I live nearby, but I can tell you that they have a very good staff and I've been shopping there for years. I also agree that Eureka U.S.A. provides great service. Very fast turn around on orders.

I've had great service both from Brookhurst and Eureka USA.

ESSEX! thank you, Do they have a distributor in the US?

Rod Langway06 Dec 2010 9:24 p.m. PST

Fieldmarshallt,

Ares is listed as the US distributor (never ordered from them). Used to be Wargames Inc., but I am unsure if they have any remaining in their stock.

The figs are quite nice, Essex makes up my EW German army. Only wish they had a more expansive WWII range.

I've had good service direct from Essex and Peter Pig.

Went to Brookhurst awhile ago to look at Peter Pig. Browsing individual ranges was impossible. So I had to go to Peter Pig's site to find the figures I wanted -- and then ordered direct. Even with shipping, at the current exchange rate it was cheaper too.

@miniMo:

Hi, this is John from Brookhurst Hobbies. I'm sorry to hear you had a poor experience at our store. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve your shopping experience in the future, I'd love to pass those along to our manager. Please send us an e-mail anytime: info@brookhursthobbies.com

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

John,

The Peter Pig line on the Brookhurst web site is very hard to search through to find what you are looking for.

For example Range 08 "WWII 15mm" has all 559 items of the WWII line jumbled into a single list. At 10 items per page that's 55 pages to sort through to find what you are looking for. Items are not even grouped with those 559 items by country. For example you'll look through a dozen items of German stuff, then get the next six items of British, then a dozen of US, and then you'll get back to German again for the next bunch of entries.

It would be much better if that WWII line was further broken down by Country to make searching for items and browsing easier. I expect the other PP lines are the same way but I've only been buying WWII for the last year or so.

I find myself having to use Peter Pig home site to "look up" what I'm trying to find from their line and then copying the product code over to the Brookhurst site to make my order in the US.

I like the store and like the service I get from Brookhurst, but searching/shopping online there could be a little more user friendly.

Tom

The Peter pig site is laid out as you suggest for large ranges like his PBI figures (wwII) and most others are grouped by nationality which makes stuff easy er to find

Thanks for the feedback; I'll pass it along!
