I have a French 7YW army, and given that it was famous for its officers deserting their posts to dance the minuette, damnit I need some minuetting people! Via Eureka I can get the full 6 piece band, but I need some dancers, prancers and so on. Any suggestions? |

Try starting a Eureka 100 Club request. I worked for the string quartet

I wonder if a E100 Club request would work on something like 18th Century furniture castings to use in vignettes? |

Correction: "It" worked for the string quartet. The Eureka Civilians range has some furniture in the 18th C range, along with the obese squire and parson. Eureka also has dancing Victorians. link It seems to me there is precedent here for someoen who wants to start a 100 Club request and work tirelessly to see it to the goal. Just remember that YOU can propose it, but you also have to promote it. |

Good idea re E100 and furniture as well – they already have a bit going with teh "more tea vicar" so a few minuetters, buxom mademoiselles and over-the-top foppy officers etc should be fine :-) I saw the dancing victorians, maybe a file and a bit of greenstuff will do fo now
.. As an aside, I like the DBx rules as they force you to have 6-8 elements of "baggage" in your army, which are always an opportunity for vignettes etc – IMHO all rules should enforce this.

Willie (Suren) figures have male and female 18th century figures which might suit, in both the original and 'new' ranges. These are expensive and a bit lacking in the sort of detail most people expect these days, and I'd certainly be interested in a 100 Club bid for such figures. |

Well, I emailed Eureka and put the proposition to them. Also, I found Old Glory does a Fat Governor set in its Pirate range with a few useful figures, and there are a few odd figs here and there, mainly in other pirate ranges. |

I don't know whose figures you use, but in most ranges you can find standard bearers who have one hand – usually an open hand – raised. If you can find a matching female figure (Redoubt makes several female packs, at least one of which is suitable for the 18th Century) you can have them clasp hands in a typical period dance pose. Alternatively, as they are French, just buy two standard bearers

Pirates do a fine minuet together. All that time at sea

I asked Eureka Miniatures about the possibility of adding some people doing the Minuet to their 18th Century figures, this is the response: "Thank you for your suggestion and it has been added to the web site as 18C Minuet Dancers, 100CLUBHM9" So, if anyone wants to add dance to the Eureka String Quartet et al's music, please register your interest I am assuming you all have your browsers pre-set to Eureka, but if not they are over here: Following a discussion on the TMP 18th Century page, I asked Eureka Miniatures about the possibility of adding some people doing the Minuet to their 18th Century figures, this is the response: "Thank you for your suggestion and it has been added to the web site as 18C Minuet Dancers, 100CLUBHM9"

Some couples among these lines: picture picture Though it would be more flexible to have individual miniatures allowing 'pairing'? |

Thanks, Freecloud. Dancers ordered – should go well with the CPE Bach band as you say. |

Jacdaw to produce at least a couple: link Sculpted in the Willie (Suren) style of the sixties, so you have to be receptive of the 'special charm' of 'Old School' minis following the miniature figurines standards of half a century ago. |

So, is someone going to produce a range of Minuet Men? |

A little like these:
Unfortunately in 54mm
Piepp Minaturen linklinklinklinkspotted by linkReally *too bad* they don't 'pantograph down' their minis to a smaller size, as Elastolin did with its parallel 70mm and 40mm ranges: the same ratio would produce here 31mm minis! Piepp also has interesting '45mm' ranges, reportedly close to 'small 54mm' of other manufacturers: link link |

Very Nice! I got the Eureka quartet, the More Tea Vicar set, and the Old Glory Fat Colonial Governor set, it's given me quite a few interesting figures for Minuetting and other dioramas |

Check the Zinnfiguren sets. I have several SYW civilian and camp flat sets. Set them in front of a tent and they look great (fron the front). |

If 'humanized' in 28-30mm, the Meissen monkey orchestra link would be *great*:

"cute feminine faces" ?! As a friend remarked, "they all look like the Princess Royal". Here's hoping the new "Sandra" range, if and when it materialises, shows a little more diversity of faces and hairstyles
