It has been a long time since the last post of our club here. We have been very busy with the launching of our own brand of figures under the name Red Star Miniatures one year ago. You can find some stunning photos of our last demo game at Crisis 2010 in Antwerp on November 6th, "Rescue in Grozny" on link Of course we played this demo, about a Russian armoured column try to save a bunch of hostages in central Grozny, Chechenya 1996, with our figures and vehicles. We used the fast playing "Breaking News" rules link All scenery self made. We hope you will enjoy the photos. All comments welcome. |

"Wow" is all I can say. The first battle of Grozny is one of my "must do" games in my lifetime. Your minis and terrain are spectacular. It must have been quite a fun event. Ive heard of the rules but am not really familiar with them Ill have to have a second look. link Again, kudos on the fantastic terrain and thanks for sharing! |

Very impressive looking game. You can almost taste the dust. Who makes the hostage figures? |

Brilliant work! It really shows the figures off to their best advantage, and looks fantastic! :-) |

Concerning the"Breaking News" rules, we are actually play testing them for our Italian friend. There is already a lot of adaptions and modifications. It will probably come to a joint publication between Dadi e Piombo and Red Star Miniatures with campaign booklets (background, army list, scenery, lot of photos,
) in 2011. The hostages figures comes from TAG. |

"It will probably come to a joint publication between Dadi e Piombo and Red Star Miniatures with campaign booklets (background, army list, scenery, lot of photos,

Brilliant pics and figures. Looks like a model diorama rather than a Wargaming board! |

That's a hugely impressive setup! |

I am now convinced that European "gamers" are nothing of the sort. They cannot have wives, girlfriends, children, jobs, or regular gaming nights. All of those would get in the way of the brilliant modelling. I am even now pondering how to justify the cost of plane fare to Antwerp to spend a weekend playing with toy soldiers. That setup is gobsmacking. Some of those shots look exactly like photos of teh real thing. |

Along with veryone else, I stand in awe whilst taking my hat off. I wish I'd been at Crisis this year. Please please please bring the game to Salute and I'll wear a spit guard to stop me salivating alover the terrain Stunning. Kerplonk
* John T PS – nice subtle photoshop work to finish the shots off on the realism front *the sound of my jaw hitting the floor |

Cheminsdefeu & club, What can I say that hasn't been said above? Stunning. Absolutely, positively stunning. I never play moderns, but I could not say no to playing with yours. |

jaw-dropping, awesome! The best table I've seen this year. |

keep tuned, as within 2011 Dadi&Piombo and Red Star will probabbly publish "Grozny" a Breaking News supplement for the Chechenya War. Another booklet in the pipeline for the Breaking New series is "The Afghan Job" (a scenarios collection suitable also for other systems). |

Update on possible Eureka 15mm Chechens for those looking for a smaller scale to game Grozny, Chechen Wars, etc

Nice work but since this is from the 1990's doesn't it belong somewhere else rather than in the WW2 area? |
| GROSSMAN | 13 Jun 2011 8:02 p.m. PST |
How do you say wow in Chechen? Benchmark stuff, thanks for sharing. Would these rules work for micro armor or is it skirmish level? |
| Phillipaj | 14 Jun 2011 5:15 a.m. PST |
That is as good as it gets. Bravo. |
| richinq | 22 Feb 2012 10:07 a.m. PST |
The pictures look great. Did any Campaign books get published? I am looking at getting the Red Star figures at Salute this year. Many Thanks Rich. |

Ambush Alley has a Falujah scenerios book coming out. Hopefully they will do a Chechen Wars book as well. |
