For me, it's Flames of War. We play it every other Sunday, chez moi.

Five years ago, if you had told me this, I would have laughed in your face. For one thing, I had taken a solemn vow many years ago to never paint Germans or Russians. (I own a Soviet "army" that takes up 3 bulging Sterilite 3-drawer chests, and have painted many Germans for friends). I disliked WW2 rules and games in general. I also much prefer 25/28mm figures to 15mm. grin
Go figure.

Diadochoi14 Nov 2010 2:54 p.m. PST

I love big games with lots of figures on the table, so the ruleset I play the most is…. Savage Worlds (for those not in the know a skirmish set).

As John said, go figure.

Dropzonetoe Fezian14 Nov 2010 2:59 p.m. PST

Necromunda is typically what I play.

Pictors Studio14 Nov 2010 3:09 p.m. PST

For me it is Black Powder these days, but it used to be WH40K and before that warmaster and then back to 40K.

Feet up now14 Nov 2010 3:12 p.m. PST

Flying lead at the moment because the kids love to play it.Used to be Combatzone postApoc games .Both these game in 25-28mm figures.

Space Monkey14 Nov 2010 3:14 p.m. PST

Lately it's been 5150… but tonight we're playing Rogue Trader with this wacky scenario my friend thought up.

Ron W DuBray14 Nov 2010 3:20 p.m. PST

all things zombie, it was 4 of the last 6 games I have played over the last year

CPT Jake14 Nov 2010 3:22 p.m. PST

I think the one I play most is the 'Hide new purchases from the wife' game ;)

Just kidding, actually it is the JUSTIFY the new toys to the wife game.

Mostly home-brewed fast-play skirmish rules with 25/28mm figures. Dean

I usually play WWII and Vietnam in 28mm or 20mm using Disposable Heroes rules. That said, my game group also plays WWII Nuts!, James Bond adventures in 28mm, GW Fantasy, 1920's gangsters using 2 Hour Wargames, and Road Warrior/Cars Wars style games using modified Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars recently.

15mm WWII and Near Future using Disposable Heroes. Throw in some Zombies now and then for some mindless fun.

Getting ready to set up a few East Front games for Blitzkreig Commander in 10mm.

Martian Empires,
it's been getting pretty
popular at the local
store and it's all I can do
to keep adding terrain.

PzGeneral14 Nov 2010 3:43 p.m. PST

Was on a ATZ spree…lately it's been Song of Blades and Heroes….

GreenMountainBoy14 Nov 2010 3:45 p.m. PST

For me, Flames of War as well. Five year ago, the first time I played it, I said "meh", but my buddies liked it so I played follow the leader… Except NOW I'm the leader! We have a lot of fun with it, and can always find willing players.

Am working on 15mm napoleonics for BP or Lasalle, so hope to add those to my 'most played' list soon…

Lentulus14 Nov 2010 3:50 p.m. PST

Depends on "since when"

Last 6 months, lots of Black Powder
Over a couple of years, probably BKC II

DBA and HoTT by a mile. Also some Command and Colors Ancients.

CmdrKiley14 Nov 2010 4:25 p.m. PST

I've been keeping track of my games on Board Game Geek for about 5 or 6 years. Since I've been doing that, Rezolution is on the top of my list at 77 out of 440 games played. Next runner up, and rapidly so is AE-WWII at something like 40 out of 440.

The Monstrous Jake14 Nov 2010 5:08 p.m. PST

I've been experimenting with several new rules designs over the past few years but the one game I end up playing the most is Shipbase III (computer-assist naval miniatures, pre-Dread through WWII) and variants thereof.

Haven't tried it with zombies yet.

DBA then FOW as they are the most popular games at the club.

After that probably Lasalle.

mad monkey 114 Nov 2010 5:45 p.m. PST

Might and Reason and Blackpowder have been the most played in my group….though the gang did some Flintloque thursday that I missed.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut14 Nov 2010 5:55 p.m. PST

Current: WH40K
Before that, it was Dark Age. And before that was HotT. And before that was Vor: the Maelstrom. And before that was WH40K. And before that was DBA. And before that was WH40K. And that catches us up for the last 20 years.

quidveritas14 Nov 2010 6:43 p.m. PST

Watch Your Six! WWI air war in 1/72.

Have slowed down on this lately -- probably only play 30 odd games a year now which is about half of what I did the previous 5 years.

Business is good which means gaming is bad.

Pizzagrenadier14 Nov 2010 6:44 p.m. PST

Since I do all my gaming at our club, mostly WWII with DHC7B. Been playing some WWII naval actions with (I think) General Quarters III which has been fun. Played a massive Austerlitz game with hundreds of 15mm minis using Age of Eagles which was a blast. It seems I always miss the games of Check Your 6! at the club, but that is fun and I manage to be an even worse pilot than I am admiral which is saying something.

Getting ready to dive back into FIW with This Very Ground again when I get my 15mm Blue Moon stuff done.

ming3114 Nov 2010 6:51 p.m. PST

Full thrust , best space ship game out there .

The past couple years have been mostly:
AE-WWII
Pulp City

With a minor in recent months for:
Strange Aeons
Anima Tactics

and in theory, though not as recently:
AE-Bounty
Malifaux

Plus some playtesting and demo games and what have you. But those top two are most of what I have played for the past two years now.

Gonsalvo14 Nov 2010 7:55 p.m. PST

Piquet, Field of Battle

Sudwind14 Nov 2010 7:56 p.m. PST

DBA is in the lead, without a doubt. Check Your Six, Fire and Fury, Wooden Ships and Iron Men, DBR, HOTT, War At Sea, Panzer Leader and Command Decision are also favorites that I have been able to play more than once in the last year.

John the OFM14 Nov 2010 8:03 p.m. PST

This is going to be a large Poll.
If it makes it to the Big Time, I would suggest that Bill only include the #1 choices.

Personal logo Parzival Supporting Member of TMP14 Nov 2010 8:51 p.m. PST

I love Warmaster/Bo5A, and of course I've written my own spaceship combat game, G.O.B.S.!, which *I* think is the best one out there (wink). I also enjoy LotR and Ogre/GEV.

So naturally the game I play most is…

Risk.

grin

(Okay, maybe that doesn't qualify as a miniatures game… so we're back to Bo5A/Warmaster. But the Risk line was funnier.)

Farstar14 Nov 2010 8:54 p.m. PST

Last six months: Epic Armageddon, with Warmachine/Hordes in 2nd.

The six months before that was BFE:World At War

If I look at the last five years as an average, Epic Armageddon, Warmachine/Hordes, and WFB are the top runners, with WAB and Ogre Miniatures the Runners Up.

aecurtis Fezian14 Nov 2010 9:25 p.m. PST

In the last two years, medical games have sort of taken priority.

WAB, I suppose. Playing around a good bit with Impetus as an alternative. Flames of War was on a roll, but soured for me with some stupid things: overriding an aithor's research (FSSF in "Dogs and Devils") and generally churning the support material.

In fact, the last two years have been more a question of "What miniatures game has disappointed me the most?" #1 there: Field of Glory, obviously; but then WAB and FoW.

Flames of War. Sometimes I manage to get in Rules of Engagement. I'm still trying to sell my fellow local gamers on Black Powder.
