I'm looking for 28mm miniatures suitable for gaming skirmishes during the Cuban Revolution.
Any ideas?

Can't be too picky as there are no dedicated minis.

Some examples of troops from the war:

Good mix of headgear, but a lot of helmets so late WW2 American army and marines should work (for both sides, really).

Various places for those,TAG's US Marines are a good place to start: link

For head swaps, try Empress Miniatures SCW heads: link

Brigade games have some good stuff in their ranges:

And, 50's US Army: link

Also, for armor, Batista had 24 Lend-Lease M3 Stuarts from WW2 as well as a shipment of 7 M4A3 (76) Shermans in 1957. If you wanted to do Bay of Pigs you can add T-34's and SU-100s.

Hope that gets you started!

Have you seen the Che films? Might give you some ideas what sort of thing to look for.

@ComradeCommissar
Thanks for the hints, helps get the ball rolling :-)

@BigRedBat
In fact, a friend of mine brought this up after watching the films. His internet connection is temporarely down, so I started the research via the good old TMP.

Maybe you should look at 20mm. Vehicles are cheap and readily available, ww2 Us minis whould make useful Batistans and some of the Platoon 20 miniatures would make promising rebels, if bearded.

I'm actually tempted m'self….

Let me guess, you played Call of Duty Black Ops and now feel the need to translate some of those missions to tabletop? :D
