Only 3 war-gamers at the Battle Barn Sat but the aerial war over Burma went on using WBiM rules…

Dav took the fight and joined the Chinese Air Force as a American Volunteer flying two P-40s vs. Joe (two Oscars) and me flying two Betty Bombers.

Mission was for the Japanese to bomb and destroy a railroad bridge.

Flying Officer Dav stuck to his orders and concentrated on attacking the bombers hitting one hard on turn 3 with two engine hits causing the Betty Bomber to abort the mission and return to base.

On the next turn one of the AVI pilots got caught in a kill zone between two bombers and one of Joes Oscars taking multiple light and heavy hits. This caused the AVI pilot to abort too but luckily was able to follow one of the remaining Betty towards the bridge on his way back to the base. One of Joes Oscars joined this fight and all three planes poured fire into each other for a few turn. The P-40 took most of the damage and on turn 8 the pilot had to bail out over Burma never to be seen again. 1/2 kill each for Joe and the Bomber crew

The surviving Betty now with a wounded pilot attacked and destroyed the bridge on turn 9. Mean while Joe discovered that the Oscar has terrible fire power as he tackled the last P-40 Tomahawk who was slaughtering the aborted Betty bomber. By turn 12 that Betty had 3 fires on board and 1 smoking engine and went into a spin. The next turn the surviving crew (co-pilot and right gunner dead and Navigator wounded) bailed out. giving Dav kill.

The game ended on turn 18 with my remaining bomber landing with a seriously wounded pilot and NO ammo left in my top ball gunner, tail gunner and ether waist gunner. Dav also landed with only a few rounds of 30cal ammo.

Another epic aerial battle over Burma.
