Hello All, just thought I'd give a heads up about about a review of the teeny-tiny Roman and Hellenistic Galleys in 1/3600th scale available from Outpost Wargame Services in the UK, over at my Blog: link Just an informal run through of my thoughts, from the point of view of someone who doesn't really know his Hellenistic Penteconter from his Iambic Pentameter or whatever
.. :-) Some surprisingly nice sculpts, though, given their size, so if you're inclined, feel free to drop by and take a look. P.S. I have a vague recollection that there used to be a really good, detailed article somewhere on the Web regarding these; maybe an old TMP Workbench piece? In any event, couldn't locate that as I forgot to bookmark it, so provided my own review – plenty of close up pics if 1/3000th or smaller is your thing! |

I remember such an article but I don't think it was on TMP. These have been around for a good while – I got mine quite a few years ago but only got around to a few samples. They do paint up nicely – even the lembi. I went mostly for the ones with no sails but I'll admit it was probably a mistake – sails give you a good canvas for telling ships apart – 1/3600th hulls don't give a lot of acope in that respect. |

Yes, that's what I was hoping – the sails aren't exactly 'authentic' (or very big for that matter
) but should help with identification, or at least give a fleet a unified theme according to colour/design etc. Wish I could remember where I saw that review, as you say, it was a long time ago, but was one of the places that first turned me on to these little gems! |
