I have posted my working text of maritime rules to supplement my Irregular Wars set for land actions. link Obviously, the core rules system of the two games is completely different, but I was still going for a combination of simplicity, period flavour, random events (so far only for crew sizes, but eventually with event cards) and customisation. As I've said here before, I enjoyed the Perfect Captain's 'Spanish Fury Sail' but found them a bit fiddly – at the risk of being a proverbial kettle calling some other appliance black. We've played one game of 'Galleon' which I found to be so unfinished that I gave up. These rules are my attempt to put something together to fill the relative void of naval rules for this period. I would love to hear back from anyone who cares to give these a go! |

Hi HHE: I can't figure out how to down load or print a copy to try? |

Hhhmmmmm there should be an option to print straight from the blog entry. Otherwise, just drop me an email (address at the top of the blog) and I can email the files. I'll have a look at the options for posting files again

I logged into ScribD with Facebook, and it still won't let me download the rules. Appears it is just a scam to get my Facebook contacts. I've tried viewing other stuff in ScribD in the past too, and their site is just too slow. I wish people would just publish to the Yahoo Groups, since access from there would be much easier. Any chance someone would be willing to post to the Pirate Wargames Yahoo Group? I imagine others there might be interested in these rules as well. |
