I really love the crazy critters that came before us:

SF sculptors, hope this stuff inspires a little.

The Tully Monster is especially weird looking fellow…

The jawless fish of that time look most peculiar to our eyes, since most living forms have jaws and we are more used to them; Likewise, the armoured fish are seemingly alien for a similar reason.

A couple look like they could provide inspiration for SF sculptors designing space ships.

I was picturing Greys wearing leopard skins and carrying spears.

"the armoured fish are seemingly alien for a similar reason."

I am more concerned about what they were armored against!

Seems like most of their compadres are not armored and jawless.

What of our Devonian friends who are still around today? link link

Or take the skeleton of one of the Devonian's favorite sons and flesh it, barely, and you would have a serious looking thunder creature link (just hang skin on the skeleton :)

And no talk of Devonian creatures would be complete without our old friends, the Trilobites trilobites.info link link link link link
