Bloody hell! nice to see grown men sorting things out like mature adults, all over something that is supposed to be a fun hobby. I assume like most things the truth is some where between the two versions being given. |

Robert Browning, eh? I'd like to hear his version of events. I thought Robert Browning's sidekick was Elizabeth Barrett anyway, not this Ron Ringrose character. Yuk! Yuk! |

I could not find on eBay the cheap buildings mentioned in the report. I wonder if the guy got paid for his work, and he is just upset about not getting acknowledgement. |

Paul Darnell of Touching History touchinghistory.blogspot.com continues his unwarranted vendetta against me on his blogsite. Nothing new there, but recently he has simply gone too far by stating that I am a dishonest fellow to be avoided at all costs. The hypocrisy of his statement is breathtaking. Contrary to his claims, I have not taken ‘the deceitful shortcut in repeatedly claiming to have made numerous models and large layouts' that Paul Darnell made. Incorrect credits have appeared on TMP and Wargames Society websites in some of the posts made by author/photographer Joe Dever, and these have been put right without undue delay when these errors were brought to Mr. Dever's attention. Further, Mr. Dever provided links to Paul Darnell's website, Touching History, thereby giving him additional recognition and publicity. The implicit insinuation that I, and Mr. Robert Browning, cheated Paul Darnell out of £4,000.00 GBP (US$6250) is entirely false. His blog statement: "if you do bump into them, please ask them to send me the money" is disingenuous and defamatory by its clear implications. The accusation that I have acted in any way dishonestly is false and defamatory and damaging to my good name and business reputation. In light of the fact that in my previous business dealings with Paul Darnell, I had to resort to calling in the police to pursue him after he refused to supply a model I had bought from him, through my agent, I find it incredible that he has the bare-faced cheek to insinuate that he is the aggrieved party in our dealings. The police enforced a payment order against Paul Darnell, which, after some deliberate delay on his part, eventually he settled. The case record number and full details are still on file with my solicitor. By now he will be in receipt of a letter from my solicitor.I hope he will do the decent thing and issue a full and unreserved apology without delay, and desist from ever making derogatory comments about me in the future. |

Can't help but laugh about Mr Ringrose's recent post about legal action. 1 – I should state no Legal action has been taken by him. 2 – Myself and Joe Dever I feel are cool about things now once he pointed out in a post on this site that he is always told what to put by R. Ringrose in terms of who is credited as having made the terrain and buildings. 3 – I see from his post that Joe Dever is now being blamed for making these incorrect credited posts. (Fall Guy) He must also blame Joe for the one where he states that R.R made many of the models and terrain for my series of model books and for my website.(LOL) 3 – If you believe R.R that these posts were just a mistake by Joe Dever, then all the many posts made here and on other forums which stated that Ron Ringrose and Robert Browning made and sculptured these large layouts which I had made, it seems strange that neither of them thought to get those credits changed? 4 – As for the police action he mentions, well that's right out of left field and a court will prove that he is incorrect as the police did not enforce anything. When there is large sums of money which I feel are owed to me, don't try and be sneaky and get the chap from Artmaster Studio to buy models for you, knowing full well that I won't sell to you. The money was only returned as the chap from Artmaster studio had used his own money to buy the model and I did not want him to be out of pocket. 5 – I say loud and clear, If you think you now have grounds to go to court, then just get on with it and don't waste my time. I likewise will claim damages from you etc etc. Stop the waffle and lets get it on Cheers Paul Darnel touchinghistory.blogspot.com |

By airing dirty laundry, one invites unwanted speculation: Hamlet: Madam, how like you this play? Queen: The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

"I had to resort to calling in the police to pursue him after he refused to supply a model" Blues and twos! Put your foot down Jimmy. There is a guy waiting for an model! Try that in London and they would probably Tazer you for wasting police time. I have to conclude Ron Ringrose has shot himself in the foot. Medic! Still no harm done and it made some of us laugh. Thank you Ron. |

I know of one person who had paid Paul Darnell aka Touching History a fair chunk of change to have nothing delivered for a very long time and received no replies to all his emails. My understanding is that only after posting here I believe did he get his money back
|
HistoryInc | 18 Oct 2010 12:43 p.m. PST |
With due respect Raynamhab, that is not the case. Once I was out of hospital and back in circulation a number of people were fully refunded with money and their models, including Ethan who made a post on this site which you refer too and not because he made the post. This whole thing is sad, pathetic, call it what you will, but as long as these two large layouts and a large number of models keep getting credited to R.R and R.B I'll keep banging on about it. You can visit my site to check out some of the links to this site where posts have been made with full credits for having made and sculptured the terrain/buildings given time and again to R.R and R.B and as Joe Dever states on one of them, he's told what to put in his posts by R.R, so we are not talking casual mistake. As for money, police and the search for whose telling the truth, then if R.Ringrose is telling it and as he states were off to court, then he or me will be proved right by the law of the land and I for one look forward to my day in court. If there is no court case, then its up to others to judge whose blowing hot air and throwing their toys out of the prame to save face. Although I'm happy to admit that I've done a little toy throwing at the start of all this when I first became aware of these posts by Joe Dever, but you live and learn. Cheers Paul Darnell – Touching History touchinghistory.blogspot.com |
