I started working on some old Stardate: 3000 ships for use as transports in a scenario; read more about it here: link

Looking great, man! What time is your game?

What you have there is a Perseus class light cruiser (upper)
Orion class heavy cruiser (middle) and a kidbash using two Draco class destroyers and an Auriga class fleet support ship.

Thanks for IDing the ships, Virtualscratchbuilder. Not sure if you saw them, but I have links to Project Rho and to your website in the post.

Only Warlock, are you in Texas? I'm playtesting the scenario at 7 p.m. this Tuesday (Oct. 12) at Dragon's Lair in San Antonio. If you can't make it then, I'm running the game again at MillenniumCon 12+1 in Round Rock.

I live just North of Round Rock and I'm running two "Tomorrow's War" games at the MilCon show on Saturday! I'll drop by your table and see you there!

What rules are you running? I ran Starmada at MilCon XII

I sure did not click on those links! Cool!

Excellent! My MilCon game is Friday evening. I'm using the Galactic Knights rules; read more about the game here: link

Look forward to seeing you there, and of course you're welcome to help playtest the scenario this Tuesday.

P.S. I updated my blog post with Virtualscratchbuilder's identifications.

I'm glad you spelled kitbash right.

Some of my favorite spaceship miniatures.
How are the 'Galctic Knights' rules? I've got a bunch of those ships but never got a look at the rules… I was tempted to buy a copy of Maatac though.

The rules are easy to learn and play fairly quickly--you can finish a game with a half-dozen ships per side in about two hours. Galactic Knights is granular, with damage to individual weapons and some systems, but not as detailed as Full Thrust or (God forbid!) Starfleet Battles. My favorite aspect of GK is the vector movement system, which I thought was very elegantly done.

I posted an overview of the rulebook and links to several reviews of the game in another post on my blog: link

Gah… now this has me looking for a copy of the old 'Starfleet Wars' rules from the '70s… as if I need another set of space-battle rules.
