I am suddenly gung-ho for this sphere of the hobby and the . Having already created the fine State of Beimbach-Schönau circa 1720.

After a few days I have formulated some plausible "fluff", designed a few uniforms, purchased figures for conversion and laid the bare bones of the geography and Heraldry.

However – I wondered if there is some sort of forum and/or resource repository out there in addition to the many great "blogs"?

I don't wish to plagiarise, I just want to see where other folks have gone!

Welcome to the brotherhood ("never mistake a 'r' for a 'l'!": Monte-Cristan saying).
As an approximation of a resource repository, some 80 blogs are linked to 'Emperor vs Elector': emperor-elector.blogspot.com . These and many still 'independent' ones are listed (with link) by alphabetical order of the (main or first, in many cases) imaginary country on my own blog: link
The diversity of approaches is outstanding: from a single statelet to a whole continent, from mainly painting to campaigning to 'novelizing' the (picaresque) adventures of a few characters…
Some begin with the history of their creation from the dark Ages, some by the geography / economy, some by the ruling line and the court plots, some by the uniforms and flags…
Happy browsing!

Ah! Thank you sir – should keep me amused for yonks!

I am feeling liberated – no need ever again to justify facings and lace colours!

I will check this out pronto.

(Incidentally Beimbach-Schönau is firmly in the Imperial camp being a a Catholic State!)

Still mulling over my idea for a Bosniak/Turcoman lancer unit.

I can't beleive how much fun working on the coat of arms is! Pixel by pixel. Perhaps I have finally slipped over the edge…
