Hi, my name is Rob Baker and perhaps you have heard of me. In case you have not I am a specialist figure and straight-line sculptor.

I work in all major scales from 15mm to 100mm, although my speciality is undoubtedly the popular 25mm / 28mm. I have produced original figures for many companies over quite a few years now, and I can adapt my style accordingly to fit in with existing ranges or start a whole new range from scratch.

A lot of people are familiar with my figure sculpting but my straight-line work is less well known although many people believe it to be as good if not better.

I currently have a window of opportunity, and I am contacting you to offer my services.

The following are my current prices for 28mm originals:

Basic infantry (e.g. Unarmoured Ancients)……£70

Standard Infantry, cavalry and artillery figures (e.g. Most Horse and Musket, WWII etc..) …… £80.00 GBP

Command figures, officers, drummers etc (including complex Horse and Musket with detailed lace work)…… £100.00 GBP

Caricatures and Vignette figures ……£125

Head swaps ……. £25.00 GBP

Half conversions, (e.g. up to 40% of a full original figure) ……. £40.00 GBP

Straight line work is £25.00 GBP per hour, based upon agreed time estimate.

If you are interested please contact me; I can then also give you suggestions as to where you may see some of my past work, and we can talk through details such as delivery schedules, scope etc.

Contact details below.

Sorry, but what is "straight line" work?

clibinarium26 Sep 2010 3:37 a.m. PST

Non organic objects like cannons, limbers, vehicles etc. Stuff composed of lots of straight lines.

I have seen Robi's greens for several companies, unfortunately not released yet, and I can verify they are superb…top of the market. I hope Robi you kept pictures of those Samourai!!!

Maybe he is so cheap because he is not a good sculptor! :-D
I'm joking, likely he is very talented one, I'd be curious anyway to see some work of hims.

Hermano27 Sep 2010 6:09 a.m. PST

So, if such as experienced sculptor is looking for a job, what chances remain to a young newer sculptor like me to find work? :-D

"I heard there is people who gets 300-500$ per 28mm miniature, why you are so cheap?"

That would be prices for the top sculptors.
