It looks like a LOT of people have a LOT of time on their hands and have come up with over 40 pages worth of "what if" paint schemes for modern fighters. Apparently some of the links have broken since the thread was started, but this page is a good starting point: link Wyatt |

Some of the US schemes look amazing on the Hunter, which is a very pretty jet IMHO. |

The USA and West Germany had some interesting schemes. Check out the Don Color IPMS website for 3-View drawings of them. |

I'm thinking of borrowing some of these for aeronef or land ironclads
Some are just variations of current schemes, but some are right out there. |

And if you like A-10 Warthogs as much as I do, there are about 100 what-if schemes at that link – many different nationalities and branches of service. There's even a US Forest Service fire-bomber yellow-and-red scheme. It's about halfway down this page: link |
