I am quite tempted in doing a 6mm war of the roses army. Been interested by the scale for some time and love the period, already having a 15mm army nearing completion. I have discovered 3 companies making 6mm WOTR: Kallistra Baccus Heroics & Ros Do you know of any others and would these mix well with in the same army? Obviously not in the same base but the same battle. If I went with this project I would want the maximum amount of variation in poses available. Thanks for your advice. Regards Chris |

H&R are skinny and wimpish. They are smaller than Baccus and will look much smaller when side by side with them. There is a photo on the Baccus website of H&R beside Baccus and Irregular: link That link should take you to the right page. If not, then you need to go to the FAQ and scroll down. I think Irregular Miniatures have some Wars of the Roses stuff. Personally, I would just go with the Baccus stuff. After painting around 5000 of them so far, I still think they are the best. |

McLovin, I have a huge collection of 6mm WotR Baccus figures that are painted and based. If you're interested in buying some, I'd be happy to ship you some pictures--very reasonable costs. My email is bob.barnetson@shaw.ca . Bob in Edmonton |

I would just go with Baccus as the various 6mm manufacturers are not really compatible. |

Depends how you want to base them. H&R have the freedom to base as you want. Baccus you have to base as they want. Look for the rules first, then decide on the basing as that may make the decision for you. |

Baccus you have to base as they want.-> Clip clip, now I base as I want. |

Kallistra 10mm figures are lovely. I have the 100 YW. |

The Baccus figures are based on strips that are easy to cut apart if that is what you want to do. |

Like yourself I have a finished 15mm WOTR (Yorkist) army and did look at doing both sides in 6mm as my 15mm figures are based to Field of Glory and I wanted to play the Bloody Barons set and/or Coat of Steel by the Perfect Captain, both of which are WOTR specific and need different bases. (You can use FoG based figures but it doesn't look right, "battles" (divisions) don't have enough depth. They look right in FoG as they are 4 ranks of figures deep, 2 of bow, 2 of bill but it doesn't translate well into the other rules as they are best played with square bases not thin rectangles. Eventually I decided against the project as dragging both sides down to the club, having to learn and explain the BB or CoS rules to players, not to mention painting the 6mm figures seemed like a bit of a slog for what is after all supposed to be fun. Much easier to play FoG which are "OK" I suppose. Whilst toying with it I did get a look at the Baccus 6mm figures though and I have to say that they are much, much better than the Heroics and Ros stuff. If you do decide to go ahead with it, I'd go for Baccus every time. Really nice, at least the archers I saw were. |
