Since February I have been trying to get Jeff Valent Studios to send me some missing items from some orders of the Deadlands figure line. Every correspondence is met with a promise to satisfy the order that weekend. Every once in awhile, something gets sent. I still have two tanks, one ornithopter and one bag of clockwork tarantulas outstanding.

Now, it seems that maybe the site is dead. When you go to the URL, it says the site is suspended with no explanation. The latest emails have been met with silence.

Anyone know anything?

Mark

Some of his links are dead on the site, but his store is still up.

I had a crappy time getting Jeff to ship missing items and finally got him to send a refund. I REALLY wanted the figures but it took months of 'they go out tomorrow' and 'I'm mailing them next week' and so on.

I finally got a refund and he even delayed that several times. As nice as some of his figures look I will NEVER knowingly give business to him again.

Good luck.

I won't deal with him ever again. I sent in an order, he took the money and never sent any figures. That was over a year and half ago. By what I have read from others, ordering from him is like gambling, sometimes you win, some times you partially win and sometimes you just lose. That just isn't for me.

I have heard the same and would avoid like the plaque. You don't need this in todays hobby. Trawl ebay and they come up now and again.

Had the same problem. Never responded to my emails.

Funny…
That is surprising news for me.

I placed lots of orders with him last year (Last October…) and had fast and great service.
Too bad the service went south…

I bought some from him last year and had no problems. A bit slow, but no worse than I have seen elsewhere. Seems I won the Valent Lotto.

Not dead, just "Harrowed" as he suddenly appeared and refunded the money on the missing figures right before Fall In. I would have preferred the figures, but hey, the money works. His message says a life change is causing a change to the business model to "…part time venture for (him) starting in December…"

He told me via email that he was "moving his production" and would be down until the "first of the year". I have sent over a dozen emails to him in the past few weeks and get no response.
I have chased Jeff around begging to order his figures for about 2 years now. I have received 1 order from him in the past 3 years and it took about 6 months to get that one.
I don't understand this guy… a few years back he told me that he might want to sell off his Washington's War line because it was a slow mover. When I offered to buy it and asked him to name his price, hre decided to keep it. About 3 months later, I got my large order and have had no luck getting anything else since.

Jeff – If you don't want to make your stuff, then sell the molds to someone who will!! At least answer your emails!!

Thanks – this thread has convinced me to not bother. I was planning an order.

I just filed a claim with paypal for an order placed in January. No minis, no response to emails. There are plenty of other places that WANT my business. I suggest you go to them as well and stay away from JVS. I know I will.

You're too late. You need to file a claim within 45 days.

Necro-posting, I know…

But does anyone know the status of JVS these days? The website is useless. I would love to see someone producing the figures. I know Reaper is doing some 'official' Deadlands stuff nowadays, but I want some of the vehicular goodies.

I am selling a complete, unassembled Steam Wagon on ebay right now: auction

As well as a Velocipede w/Sidecar (unopened): auction
