I'm looking for a Hex map of Europe for a grand campaign game. I've done a few searches and they all seem to be dead ends. I would love to keep it digital so I can make changes and show moves with a simple paintshop program. But, printing out a hard copy is also ok. Thanks in advance. Kenn

You can always get a hardcopy hex map with a game like Hitler's war or Third Reich. You can find both pretty cheap on E-bay.

What scale? and how much of Europe do you want to cover? You might want to look into games that are converted to PBEM engines such as CyberBoard.

Try Koening Krieg which has a very nice map or the old War & Peace map I think from Avalon Hill – you might be ale to pick up a copy on e-bay.

Ken, is there anyway to get a higher resolution copy of that map?

That one is from the columbia games site, it's the only one i have found. The real map is about 4 feet by 5 feet! I have it mounted on plywood

I like the map so much, I'm thinking of buying the game. How is it for solo play?

Solo play not its strength. Columbia Games uses wooden blocks with stickers to represent the units. Casualties are taken by rotating the blocks. However information is only on one side. An opponent sees a blank block until combat. This makes for tense games and good fog of war but limits solo play.

Ouch, The $249 USD price tag for the complete game kind of limits play in general.
