Now I'm about to paint up some command bases, and one of them will have a general in hussar uniform, those are easy, you can realy let the imagination play and make a completly uniqe figure. But I also hae some hussar ADC/body guards, that are gonna protect other generals, how should I paint them, would they be regular troops from a hussar regiment, or can I paint them, as I feel? Would a ADC hussar, spend a few months pay on a nice extravagant personal and uniqe uniform? |

Possibly all of those options. There was a standard ADC uniform but that wasn't based on the Hussar dress you describe. Some generals chose their own uniforms for their ADCs and sometimes the officer would remain in the uniform of the regiment from which he came. Its kind of take your pick time

I would paint the ADC(s) in distinctive, "tricked-out" uniforms to replicate their high opinion of themselves as ADCs. The escort hussars would be from one of the regiments already in my army. Jim |

Check Perry pack FN51 -- French Support Staff. It comes with 2 Hussar ADC's and 2 "regular" ADC's in bicorns. |

ADCs wore a 'brassard', which was a miniature version of their general's sash, around the upper left arm. The brassard, like the general's sash, was coloured according to the rank of the general – light blue for GB, red for GD and white for Marshal – with gold edging and fringed ends. |
