My Eureka Miniatures RLI arrived in the mail today and I was wondering if there are any painting guides for them, or failing that any suggestions at to which Vallejo colours to use for the cammo shirts and a green for the shorts? They are lovely figures by the way
I can't wait to get a game up and running with them. Edit – I found this picture on the web that may help: link And this site has some great photos to help: link |

I got my troopies on Friday! ;-p Yes, they are gorgeous figures! I love the varied headgear and webbing they wear. Don't forget this thread: link It has hundreds of period photos of Rhodesian troops. As to colors I use the Vallejo "middlestone" as a base color with their "bronze green" and a generic dark brown for my Rhodie camo. As to those iconic shorts, any dark green might work. Also remember that the Rhodesian army PT shorts were sometimes worn, which were black. I've also seen examples of camo shorts made from cut down pants as well. The point is that in the field uniform regulations were very, very lax so you can get away with a variety of combinations. I'll try to get some pics of the figures up soon. I've got the PDF advertisment of the release that shows all the poses, but I'd rather not post it without aproval of the guys from Eureka. TR |

I agree – please can someone post pictures of the minis! Who started the 100 Club request, by the way? I was after some feedback as to how easy it was to get the minis made with Eureka. |

That would be me. I sent in the request the last week of December. I posted to several forums talking up the project (including here of course) and got some local gamers to throw in their lot as well. It took about three months or so for the required 150 sculpts and ten seperate pre-orders to be raised. After that Eureka started working on the figures. The final work , from what I understand, has been done for a bit. So it worked out to be about seven to eight months. But my proposed project was something that filled a void that no one else makes at the moment and that their sculptor was inspired to work on with gusto. (as evidenced by his excellent work on these) Other's millage may vary. TR |
