I've heard some bad things about Lulu.com and their quality control and shipping costs so I was looking into other outlets. Has anyone ever used 48hrbooks.com for small print run publishing? Are there any issues with quality?

If you haven't used them, can you recommend someone who is comparable?

Please let me know your experience.

Well mate, They have an A+ BBB rating, no complaints on file (so nothing in the last 3 years) and have been a member since February of 2007. Furthermore, they claim to have been in business since 1984 (locally) which is a good thing. I couldn't find anything negative about them online, or positive for that matter. I also did a search on their founder and that just turned up community and charity stuff.

They seem to be priced fairly for short print run books, assuming you just use them for the printing and not any of the layout/design work. I see they offer a proof copy for $40…I think I would do it.

I forget, did you have the game idea that was Cyber-fantasy or the Western Horror theme?

Johnny Aces26 Jul 2010 7:53 p.m. PST

The CyberPunk Fantasy game is in the works for now. Originally, I had a Zombie horror game, but with all the delays, so many have stepped forward with Zombie games, I felt the market was flooded so I moved on to the new game using most of the old rules.

LOL…Ok, so you are both guys then. That makes it easier for me to remember. Good luck with your project.

I assume you are interested in both products? By no means have I abandoned Zombies completely, I might just take a different approach to them on the tabletop.

Yep.

I was looking forward to seeing what you had in mind for the zombie game in particular. I run, on very rare occasions, a Fantasy Western Shoot-out game. Among the figures I have on hand are Foundry Zombie Cowboys and some OG Indian figures I converted to be Zombies. Its pretty hard for me to pass up any set of rules if I already have the figures painted and ready to play with already.

Your Cyber-Fantasy game interested me because I run a modern Fantasy/Occult game setting for both RPGs and skirmish games. It is much lower tech than what you have in mind, and the fantasy aspects are underground and subtle. Many of my players have asked me to advance the setting to a cyber-punk level.

If you want to drop me an email off the boards, I can send you a draft copy of the rules and you can see if it would be something you might be interested in the event you decide to upgrade. newevolutiongames(at)gmail(dot)com
