Good Afternoon We have started producing a series of figures for the AWS, basicly to cover 3 differentn campaigns, Fontenoy, L'Assiette & Culloden together with a a large amount of civilians and we would like to know if there are any particular characters or troop types which would interest you.Other than the "Standard" Troops I want do do a good variety of light troops. Anatomy in the Suren Willie style with faceces taken from different period sources so they are a little ugly à la Hogarth. Jacdaw Jacdaw Miniatures (via OG UK) |

Ah, that minor scuffle on the Continent that was subordinate to the War of Jenkins Ear. |

Not on the work plan at the moment, but Spanish troops in Europe are already in the dollie stage thanks to Gian-Carlo Boeri and his research. And that should have been faces! not faceces, that sounds like c*#~! Jacdaw |

Hi David. I know you had Grassins on your original list but these haven't appeared from Andy yet. It would be good to have their cavalry as well (the Eureka ones are a long time coming and now hideously expensive with the fall of the pound) – and even the Chevalier de Grassin himself? I would like to see French hussars, the Montagnes, light infantry wearing the mirliton but not the fur-edged coat of the Grassins (this fits several units) and the Saxe Uhlans and dragoons. Other French units could be covered by normally dressed figures in suitable poses. I don't know about light troops in any other armies of the period, I'm afraid. Looking forward very much to the civilians as I've just done the French cantinieres in the marching set and they are very nice indeed. Some more camp followers including offspring and wounded would be great. Best wishes, John |

If doing the Spanish eventually, which sounds promising, then perhaps some miquelets or mountain fusilier types would be useful. |

Hi John Light Infantry are on the drawing board, Chasseurs de Fischer will probably be first, De Grassins later. The first Dragon de Saxe is with Andy now and I am working on a Drummer & Officer now as well as some Ulhans both Tartar & African squadrons. Maughan, as I plan to add light types to each nation covered that means that Spanish /French Miquelets will appear eventually as will Vaudois, Pandurs etc. The Gouverment Highlander "greens" are now ready. If there are any other specific wants, just post and ifr I get enough requests I shall add it to the work schedule. Best regards David (Jacdaw) |

David, Will the Piedmontsse be available through Jacdaw, or only through Tradition? Also, will you have cavalry for each army? |
| jacdaw | 27 Jul 2010 9:25 a.m. PST |
I shall be making a new set of Piedmontese for Jacdaw Miniatures, including a Mounted Officer. I shall also add some Dragoons and the Vaudois for those skirmishes in the mountains. If I can get enough info I would like to make one of little mountain guns & crew but the doc on these guns is as hard to come by as that of British guns prior to 1750, that's why mine has not yet appeared. I shall make cavalry for each Nation as I get to them, always starting with the Dragoons. The French & British are with Big Andy as we speak and he should have some pre-casts by the week end if they come out OK. best regards David (Jacdaw Miniatures) |

I know they are NOT 'historical', but what about uniformed vivandieres? They appear in the TOE proposed by Young in 'Charge!', at least for the infantry (and for the cavalry it would probably not be too hard to add a keg to the Tradition 'hunting lady' in tricorn and 'female hussar in skirt' from the Bonaparte in Egypt' range). Most builders of Lace Wars Imagi-Nations would be eager to add them to their units! |
| jacdaw | 28 Jul 2010 6:57 a.m. PST |
I have already added a "uniformed" sutleress to my ranges, see listing at jacdaw miniatures on the Old Glory UK site. I shall be making a Hussar Sutleress when I make the Austrian Hussars after a period engraving and there will be many other ladies to come in period dress 1738-1755ish dress including ethnic specifics best regards David (Jacdaw Miniatures) |
Der Alte Fritz | 02 Aug 2010 11:35 a.m. PST |
I would like to see some Austrian Pandours in irregular uniforms (i.e they wear whatever they felt like wearing as there was not uniform until the latter part of the war). French infantry with their turnbacks unbuttoned would be really nice for this period. |
| jacdaw | 02 Aug 2010 1:07 p.m. PST |
Der Alte Fritz I have alredy done so, in both Horizontal & Upright pocket versions with a specific command group for each, + the Gardes, for me the buttoned up turnbacks was a sign of road march mode for this period, also made with a command group including overcoated officers, camp follower & a pack dog. For the Pandours I shall make some of Trenks villians, some earlier Grenzers and if the response is positive, some truly irregular Slavonian types in baggy trousers etc. David (Jacdaw Miniatures) |

Hi David. I've thought of another useful set – French dismounted dragoons as used on the right flank at Fontenoy, and no doubt elsewhere. Regards, John |
| jacdaw | 06 Aug 2010 2:54 a.m. PST |
Good Morning Again these are planned, along with the Piedmontese, but I don't know when I shall get around to them, there is so much to do, on the "short" list I need to get some more cavalry for the British & French armies, the first Austrians are waiting to go of the mould makers as are the Black Watch and a lone Bavarian. I am slowly building up a collection of civilians but no complet sets yet, oh well back to the bench, I need more time dammit, I am only one, no twin here! David |
Der Alte Fritz | 09 Aug 2010 11:25 p.m. PST |
Some camp scenes would be nice, although admittedly they would not sell as many figures as soldier figures on the battle line. Some examples would include a headquarters set with a general seated at his table, some orderlies bringing in dispatches, some senior officers and toadies hanging around the general's table and some attendents and guards at attention. Then, a camp fire set with some soldiers in undress (waistcoats and breeches, with coats removed, wearing fatigue or forage caps) sitting around a camp fire drinking, playing cards, eating, smoking pipes, etc. Quartermaster with some manual labor unloading supply wagons. Field bakery personnel Hospital scenes and personnel Guard duty or cavalry picket line scenes. |

I'm interested to see the Austrians as neither Stadden nor Suren made suitable opponents for their Prussians. |

Good Afternoon I shall try to reply to aeveryone, but in the disorder. For the HQ set there are some figures planned, but I shall do mounted personalities first, but if you want the Lackey with a tray of drinks, he is already available as is an artillery officer standing with his cane . I have just made De Saxe, Louis XV & De Richelieu. A set of country folk are planned, some are already sculpted, and they will include a guy with a sack on his back as well as a a guy with a scythe, useful for foraging. Horseholders & dismounted cavalry men are planned for the future but I shall do the troops first. The fist Austrians will be the German infantry including Grenadiers & command, centre comany & command along with a mounted officer David |

OK chaps here's the word from the hot lead fromt line . The first of the jacdaw cavalry are imminent- I'm simply waiting for the production moulds to come back from my mouldmaker then we'll have 6 new packs- 3 british 3 French – all Dragoons. Should be ready to order by the end of the week on the old glory uk site oldgloryuk.com then go to jacdaw miniatures . Once I get the masters in hand the first Austrians won't be too far off . Good Evening Der Alte Fritz There are some photos of the first Greens for the Austrians posted on "glorious little soldiers" via Old Glory UK. I shall follow up with a few cavalry, hopefully afore Yuletide. regards Jacdaw |

Another thought, David – and Andy. What about French household cavalry troop types like the Gensdarmes and Musketeers, and also the Cuirassiers? I don't know what plans you have for the French line cavalry (though I would very much like them to have full coats, not turnbacks, so as to fit the earlier part of the period) but the Maison du Roi were active at Fontenoy so we both need them. John |

OK chaps a bit of an update- the Austrian infantry masters are at the mouldmakers along with the black watch – both marching and charging- there will be 1 charging set – Also to the mouldmakers are some De Saxe dragoons. David is apparently working on some gensdarmes but I don't have them yet and anyway they'll have to get in the queue as there is other stuff to go into moulds from other periods and scales. The plan is to have the Austrians at least available for the Old Glory World Wargames at Derby on 2nd October plus whatever other stuff I can have ready by then. I'm still trying to presuade David to take a breather from sculpting and paint up some display units – that might give me time to catch up a bit . Andy OGUK |

Thanks, Andy. I'm not in a hurry for the figures I mentioned; indeed, now that your rate of production is exceeding my painting capacity I can see I'm going to have quite a backlog myself! So I'm more interested in what is in the queue long term so that I know I won't have to look elsewhere, and what you and David have told us so far is very encouraging. |

Hi John I am now officially on mode peinture, need to get photos upon the site, but some green stuff still seems to be crawling around and forming itself into French cavalry & Gendarmes (the first French line cavalry will have the coats turned back, I do think that they were doing this by now but I will do some troopers without but much later on. The Gendarmes will have their coats down, also use for carabiners) and some is twisting itself into Austrian Hussars à la Morier, with a kettle drummer & Sutleress but don't tell Andy this or he might just start looking for a high building. These new figures may be ready afore yuletide but painting is now the priority regards David |
| OldGlory Andy | 14 Sep 2010 1:33 a.m. PST |
John David makes 'em faster than I can get 'em into moulds so I have a backlog too. Now David is in painting mode I might see some display units I can use at shows and for advertising photos- as well as more website stuff. Andy |
