As per the TMP news piece, Bronze Age has released a batch of new miniatures.

These new Wasteland Rats…what can I say, these were made just for me. link For fantasy giant rat types, science fiction creatures, post apocalyptic, and a non-humanoid science fiction alien race!

I am going to get a batch and convert…adding weapons, equipment, etc..

These are perfect for me.

*************

Wereboar…great link

Chess Knight (minotaur style – bull + horse) good stuff here link

Sci-fi female…cute, sexy link

Hunches and bunches of generic skeletons/sculpting dollies link

All this and a great company to deal with…it is a good Saturday :)

The Dead Earth Rats are on my to-buy list, too.

Everyone needs a few good ulsios, yeah.

Exactly.

I looked at them again and they are rather simple…but simple as in clean rather than lacking detail.

Not sure why I like them so much, but I do.

Perfect for the addition to the Alien Legion! :)

The not-Burrouhs rat analogues are indeed nice. A bit bigger than I recall them being in the books, but of these aren't from any books are they now? (-;)

28mmMan26 Jul 2010 7:49 a.m. PST

Quite a bit larger…"multi-legged rat like creatures about the size of a terrier"

But that said, I still like them as is! :)

jpattern226 Jul 2010 2:25 p.m. PST

Terriers were bigger in them days. :)

Ulsio: The Barsoomian rat This rodent is a Fierce and unlovely thing. It is many-legged and hairless, its hide resembling that of a new-born mouse in repulsiveness. In size and weight it is Comparable to a large Airedale terrier.

The Airedale is the largest of the Terriers originating in Britain. They weigh 25–30 kilograms (55–66 lb) and have a height at the withers of 58–61 centimetres (23–24 in).

I am with you my friend!

I figured you had done the research and like normal, great stuff.

As soon as I get my money in I will be putting the order in :)

Airedales are indeed pretty big dogs, there was one at the training school i took our Lab to and he was as big. With that in mind these guys look around the right size , maybe slightly larger…

I've been rereading the series, & the ulsio can be large indeed for a rat-like critter.
From LLana of Gathol:
" . . . the largest ulsio I had ever seen."
"Ordinarily they are about the size of an Airedale Terrier, but the thing that leaped at me . . . was as large as a small puma . . . ."
I sent my order for 'em yesterday.

Apparently memory doesn't serve then. I remembered the terrier bit but not the Airedale part.
