"Shooting here as well – my gaming budget is a fraction of the cost of ammo each year"

Ditto for me also, as well as hunting.

Wargaming is my most expensive hobby, but my other hobby is gardening. However,I may take up shooting since a raccoon destroyed my corn.

It was wargaming or collecting Fabergé eggs …

I watched a guy drop $3,100.00 USD on a e-bay auction for the board game Advanced Squad Leader in a couple seconds (about 80% of all the modules and 3rd part add ons)….

And that's just a board game.

If you had to paint (in appropriate national colors and details) the bullets before you were allowed to fire them, hunting would be a lot less expensive.

Or more likely people would complain about all the unpainted bullets that they wanted to get to.

Well, I spend a lot of money on books, which over the years has probably cost me more than buying games and figures. My bicycles have cost an arm and a leg too. Computers, well, just add the thousands up over the years.

So all in all, gaming is a cheap hobby.

I used to play golf and that got very expensive. Getting clubs is just the start. the balls, green fees, shoes are repetitive costs that makes the hobby go sky high.

My son got into fishing a year or two ago because of a freind. costs with that hobby is high as well. rods, tackle and even a boat that he has used less than 10 times. Now he collects guitars as part of his music hobby!

My wife is into the knitting phase. needles, sets of needles and a rainbow in colors of all the yarn. Books on techniques. Another expensive hobby. So gaming is far from being the most expensive hobby that I know.

Its the cheapest hobby I've ever done. As above, compared to fishing, guitars, model railways and sports cars its so, so cheap…

I collet 30 feet tall solid 18 carat gold statues of tv starlets, so my wargaming is slightly less then that.
