Why bother? Everything that could conceivably be posted on that board would be grounds for DH-ing, since it would necessarily concern politics and events within the last 10 years. Doug |

Its only a few tools at TMP that are too unintelligent enough to join in conversations w/out involving politics. Id be for a "what if" board in the general catagory. Idiots are gonna get them themselves DH'd regardless of whether the discusssion involves politics or not. |

Isn't miniatures gaming a variant of wargaming and isn't wargaming basically the hobby of saying what if? What if it was North West Europe in '44 and the Germans had all Tigers? What if Alexander's army sent out skirmish sized groups (because that's all I have painted) and they met Celts (because that's what my friend has painted)? What if there was this fantasy world where these Elves fought these Chaos worshippers? But it's not just any Elves, it's High Elves (they're all different you know) and it's not just any Chaos worshippers, it's Beastmen (they're all different you know) and what if we used a ruleset called Warhammer? What if in the Star Wars universe we had a fight between some Imperial Stormtroopers and this Star Trek crew (which is all my friend has painted) and some Jedi showed up to help them out? |

I'd prefer a smoked BBQ recipe board, but that's just me. |

Probably go for modern, don't know about general. I figure after the first "Nappies" question, it would become the post-apoc board. |

"I figure after the first "Nappies" question, it would become the post-apoc board." I assumed we wouldnt be letting any Nappy players in the forum IS. Am I alone here? |

What we need to do is learn how to hide the "what if stuff" into a Star Trek episode What if Kirk met the evil dictator on a Nazi planet
They did that
What if Kirk became an Indian? Wait did that too
Oh well never mind. |

Isn't wargaming in general a big 'what if'? If it wasn't then it would simply be a re-enactment in miniature because we'd know every movement and the outcome of it. |

Its only a few tools at TMP that are too unintelligent enough to join in conversations w/out involving politics. Would those be the same kind of people who call other users 'tools' and 'unintelligent'? I'd vote against said board, as it's just material for flamewars. |
Uesugi Kenshin | 14 Jul 2010 10:32 p.m. PST |
"Would those be the same kind of people who call other users 'tools' and 'unintelligent'" I didnt "call" anyone tools my good friend. I merely pointed out the fact they exist and they get threads closed from time to time. "I'd vote against said board, as it's just material for flamewars." Again
so just because some people cant be adults in a forum the rest of the TMP populace should have to suffer? |
