If they were produced? Dan |
Eli Arndt | 12 Jul 2010 2:36 p.m. PST |
Yes! In the absense of alien sculpts I will happily go the rubber suit route and modify humans to be aliens. In addition, a lot can be done through paint. Mixing and matching heads onto some of the existing alien ranges could also produce some good results. -Eli |

Absolutely, must field lots of these: picture No, of course not. Human head swaps are one thing, no prob with that, but there are way too many cool 15mm alien sculpts out there these days to stick an alien head on a human figure. |

'Absence of alien sculpts'? Que? There are loads of them in 15mm! I don't think I'd bother buying extra heads for that reason. They may come in useful for variations on the 'tower of skulls' theme but I'm not inclined to do such a fiddly kind of conversion on miniatures that are so small. |

I didn't mean there were no alien sculpts. Also, if you look at most of them that are out there that are equipped along military lines, they are all retty much the same old same old. There are exceptions but we still have tons of insectoids, canids, felinoids, big-headed greys as well as orc and elf analogs. Now, there are certainly more aliens now than there used to be, but so many of them are available in limited scope. I see nothing wrong with the option of allowing for a range of additional heads that might allow me to convert a more complete line of scifi humans into a force of aliens. -Eli |

No. I'm not into doing mods in any scale. Maybe I'm in the minority, I don't know. |

I probably wouldn't buy them either. Not enough time to paint the 15mm sci-fi stuff I have now much less convert stuff and then paint it. Besides the Ixx are perfect for my needs the way they are. |

Take another look at 15mm.co.uk for human-bodies-and-alien-heads. There's some great stuff buried in the Laserburn and HOF ranges that might suit your needs pretty well, and a decent enough variety for skirmish forces. Chris |

There are a few thing that keep me away from the stuff at 15mm.co.uk. The figs are pretty tiny. Most of the aliens are old and the sculpts show their age a bit. And most of the aliens are not of a sort that interests me. |

Probably not; I'd rather see some new sculpts of the Kra'Vak to bring them into line with the new-style New Anglian/L-UNSC ranges. The existing 15mm Kra'Vak are rather squat and chunky; okay, but not inspiring. (They'd probably make pretty good not-Sontarans.) Also, some more variation in infantry heavy weapons would be nice, for all of the newer ranges, either as accessory sprues for conversion, or as plug-ins, like the weapons Khurasan provide for the Garn. |

I would rather see them do some more alien races than just heads .. |
Rothgar | 13 Jul 2010 8:05 a.m. PST |
I'd like to GZG to continue to revamp more of the other factions first. ESU, NSL, etc.. Although a revamp of the Kra'Vak infantry would be good too. I wouldn't mind seeing the Alien Mercenaries range expanded to include command and support weapons. The crusties could use a powered armor suit as well. |

There are some great sculpts already out there. it depends how much variety you want. But if somthing caught my imagination, hammerhead shark alien heads (maybe with a small residual dorsal fin on the neck) or somthing equally exotic i might bite (forgive the pun)! |

assuming that doing head swaps/conversions in 15mm is within my range of skill (I want to say yes, but could be fiddly?), absolutley. but this is only because I am trying to proxy AE:Bounty in 15mm. I think any other application is pretty limited, making the idea an unlikely one. too bad for me

If they did KLINGONS yes. Mount them on some 15mm Vikings. |
Cacique Caribe | 14 Jul 2010 10:27 p.m. PST |
Klingons (the ones with ridges) would rock!!! Dan |
Cacique Caribe | 15 Jul 2010 12:27 p.m. PST |
Plus, it just occurred to me, someone may have alien figures, but they would rather have them with different heads. So the head sprues wouldn't necessarily be for making rubber suit alien types!!! Dan |

Imagine a GZG sprue of heads just like this one . . . link But made to fit these GZG figures here . . . link link Dan |
