How many authors have used the Rorke's Drift battle (the basis of the movie Zulu) in SF settings?

I've seen it Tanya Huff's "Valor's Choice:, Stirling's :On the Oceans of Eternity" and I think in John Ringo's "March Upcountry" (a bit of a stretch compared to the first two).

Any others?

In a boardgame setting, Outpost Gamma (now OOP) is pretty close. Don't recall any other sci-fi similar tales, though.

A friend did a fantasy race version called Orks Drift. The defenders were dwarves & the attackers orks. One of the defenders had the brilliant idea of coming up with the Not Tall Native contingent (hobbits).

GW had a battle report right around 3rd ed came out I think where they spoofed it with guard vs orks.

Actually there was a WFB 2nd boxed scenario set called "Bloodbath at Ork's Drift." This was around the time of the excellent parody set "McDeath." Funny stuff.

Wasn't the Starship troopers battle sequence at outpost ZULU somewhate reminiscent of the the roarkes drift situation?

There was also Star Wars Empire #16-18 (comic) which revolved around a group of Imperial Stormtroopers on some backwater planet that fought off wave after wave of primative aliens. Very Rorke's Drift. Fun read too!

Oh, also Ringo's "March Upcountry" is more a copy of Xenophon March from ancient Greece then it is Rorke's Drift. Great read, both the scifi and the history. Ringo's book is part of a trilogy I think, but only read the first book.

1st Edition 40K "Rogue Trader" had a scenario called the "Battle for the Farm" which was a little like Rourkes Drift.

Except that there wasn`t thousand`s of `em (Orks that is?)they may have won then.
