Ok, I got this pic today and got all excited about it so thought I'd post it here! It's the first three models for the spaceship crew, the captain, the mechanic and the GP droid (general purpose). picture One mod will be the mechanic will have a pistol in her right hand instead of having her hand on her hip -- I think gamers like their combattant models to be depicted armed. The GP droid is not armed, having only a short range laser mounted into his arm for close defense. He's around to translate, lift heavy things, give readings of ambient conditions and so on. Of course he's extremely strong and can basically tear a humanoid limb from limb! So there you have it -- two more crew members will be made, the co-pilot and the security officer. The captain and mechanic are both in the federal navy, but the co-pilot and security officer will be civilians, the security officer being a rather large SNH! (Sanctioned non-human.) If you order the dpls between now and the time the crew is released, you will get this crew set for free if you send me your tmp handle at the time you order the dpls. |

I really like those! Very nice work!!! Looking forward to my free crew. Jeff |

15mm or 28mm? Either way
those look good good good! |

Those look very nice. I especially like the droid. Good idea for the female, since armed and unarmed crew are always appreciated. |

15mm – they're part of the crew for his new spaceship mini in that scale. Very nice pieces. |

Oh snap. Those look fantastic. Love the droid. I think he needs another one like R2-D2 to help him out. |

Yeah, aliens are not allowed on DPLSs as they are also used for military purposes, unless the aliens are sanctioned by the Federal Government. The ships sensors trigger when an alien tries to board and prevents boarding. This can be worked around, of course. The security officer is not a wookie. To be perfectly honest, have never been fond of those. He's going to be more like a Minotaur, very big, in a trenchcoat, with a riot gun (revolving shotgun). The other crewmember will be the co-pilot, an exiled princess from a planet on which her father was the khan (she's going to be Asian). She'll have a pump action shotgun, I think. |

Very, very nice! Love the GP droid, want a bunch of them with guns and body armor (droids can take damage, too!) like the Sepulvedan resistance. |

everyday in everyway it gets harder and harder to resist the pull of 15mm
.must be strong, think of all the unpainted 28mm |
clkeagle | 17 Jun 2010 9:47 a.m. PST |
That droid is fantastic
you should have that sculptor make a pack of them holding various power tools or small crates. I was going to hold off a bit on getting my DPLS, but this may have pushed me over the edge. :) Chris |

must be strong, think of all the unpainted 28mm I used to think this way, but now I know that the reason I had so much unpainted 28mm was because 15mm was the one true scale for me and I had just not found it yet. No more 28mm, lots of painted 15mm and a much smaller and cheaper lead pile . . . . . Come join us! Jeff |

One mod will be the mechanic will have a pistol in her right hand instead of having her hand on her hip -- I think gamers like their combattant models to be depicted armed. I like the mini as presented, actually, but I'm a sucker for a girl with big
wrenches. And we don't get enough civies in this scale. Put the gun on her hip if you must. I can pretend its a spot welder. |

HO BUGGER I am going to have to get them. This dont mean I am doing 15mm its just they are so nice and I have some nice 15mm sclae ships you see. SO its only some crew for my ship. |
Stealth1000 | 18 Jun 2010 4:00 a.m. PST |
Just wanted to add I like my crew without weapons but its nice to have both though. |

"This dont mean I am doing 15mm its just they are so nice and I have some nice 15mm sclae ships you see. SO its only some crew for my ship." Tony- this does sound like early stages of denial within 3 months, you'll be surrounded by mountains of 15mm |
Eli Arndt | 18 Jun 2010 8:35 a.m. PST |
These are awesome! I rather like the tech without a gun in hand. She doesn't have to be holding a gun to be armed. Maybe just a holstered gun? I love the droid. One of the nicest I've seen in miniature and agree with clkeagle that a pack of them with various tools and cargo would be excellent. -Eli

She doesn't have to be holding a gun to be armed. Having actually played a mechanic armed primarily with a 3' wrench (with two stenciled "battle cyborg" kill marks and the matching dents, no less), I think she's armed already

There's a lot of personality in those minis-- they aren't just extras for a wargame scenario. So bravo! I'm especially happy to see some utility robots popping up now. |
Little Big Wars | 19 Jun 2010 5:12 a.m. PST |
Might make a decent Fry, Bender, and
Amy? with the appropriate paint job and a willingness to not have straight up copies of the Futurama crew. |

Do all of Khurasan's 15mm humans have that level of facial detail? I've never collected 15's, and was wondering about the level of detail. It's hard to tell from photos of painted pieces what is the painter's skill and what is actually part of the mini itself. |

I think the crew is going to be a complete set, Leland. Btw, he's not a Minotaur, in that he's not cow headed, but he is big and brawny and horned. Can't wait to see the sculpt in the flesh! |
Eli Arndt | 21 Jun 2010 8:44 a.m. PST |
Sounds great, Jon. Can't wait to see him either. -Eli |
BlackWidowPilot | 21 Jun 2010 9:17 a.m. PST |
Jon, oh, I figured that The Big Fella was more like a denizen of the old Lost in Space TV series meets Where the Wild Things Are, only with a duster, a banged up Stetson, and that riot cannon
I have fun as it is in 28mm converting big alien beasties like the plastic Star Wars Yuzzem into something even nastier by upgunning them from a measly blaster pistol to proper hand cannons, 10-lbs. grenades, assorted hold-out pieces and blades, etc
.. you know, just a pleasant way to pass the afternoon
FINALLY got to my Kark Jagers
can't wait to get the painted up in classic Prussian uniforms
or I might go the Napoleonic Brunswicker black with silver trim and mandatory totenkopf insignia

I like the totenkopf idea, but how to do a shark skull in 15mm? If I get some I might do a kgl scheme, call them the fkd federal karkarine division. |
BlackWidowPilot | 23 Jun 2010 3:14 p.m. PST |
winter, trouble is, is that sharks don't have skulls; only jawbones! They aren't boney fish, but have cartilage instead. Of course, I perhaps could use a shark jawbone outline instead

Wow. Those are awesome. Can't decide which I like more – the mechanic or the droid. |
