I'm looking for suitable sci fi figures to use as divers for deep sea Victorian prehistoric underwater hunting expediton. No one makes suitable diver figures as far as I know, especially swimming ones, so I thought that figures in spacesuits would be a next best option. Any sugestions? Preferably, they should be armed with something or be convertible to armed figures with harpoons, spearguns, nest etc. If there are no Victorian 20000 Leagues Under the Sea style figures, then modern deep sea divers would do. I need about half a dozen or so. |

RAFM does some nice 15mm Sci-Fi Astronauts, as does GZG. GZG also does one or two poses in 25mm, but I can't remember if they are armed or not – possibly one is. |

There are also some figs suitable for 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, but can't recall who makes them for sure. Honorable Lead Boiler Suit might be one, as well as Reviresco. They are 25mm, or larger scale. |

How would these picture suit. From scheltrum.co.uk 's Ironclad Empires range. Look carefully through there ranges as I have other divers of theirs that I have not quickly found in their online catalogue. x42 |

Check Reverisco's Catalog, I am pretty certain I saw some there. They are "true" 25mm. tin-soldier.com |

Reviresco can be hard to search, hit the arrow on the select category window, then highlight Victorian Science Fiction. |

Reviersco has them and even 'victorian' paper submarines ala' Nautilus type! |

GZG's spacesuited minis could be easily kitbashed to this purpose, I'd say. They make light and heavy space suits, and each type is available armed and unarmed. There's also a zero g version which is excellent, which you could present as "swimming" instead of "in free fall". |

Thanks chaps, I'd forgotten about the Scheltrum stuff and assumed that the HLBS range had disappeared. Thanks for the heads up Roger: the Garkkon look superb! Cheers Jim |

I dont think the Victorian era contemplated swimming divers per se. Most of the era are bottom dwellers in heavy suits and helmets. That said I would go with Reverisco or Scheltrum in 25/28mm. There are also some cool clix figures but I cant remember which range includes them. I dont know that anyone makes them but figures swimming in the one piece tank suits would be kind of cool. |
