Add up your choices!

Here are a few of mine:

Ogre Mk III
Bolo
"The Haunted Tank" (Gotta love a tank possessed by the spirit of J.E.B. Stuart)
Super Jackhammer Carrier Tank (or "Jack"): link

And my personal fave:

Ogre Mk IV – the missile OGRE.

CPT Jake08 Jun 2010 3:21 p.m. PST

The blower tanks from the Hammer's Slammers fiction.

Close second are the Bolos.

Jovian108 Jun 2010 3:23 p.m. PST

The Bauhaus Grizzly: picture

Cool model for 40K too.

The French Char Lourd F1: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FCM_F1

Fun fictional tank for a French offensive in late 1940-41 if the Germans hadn't invaded yet.

BravoX08 Jun 2010 3:23 p.m. PST

Has to be Thomas The Tank

Norman D Landings08 Jun 2010 3:30 p.m. PST

The Strogg 'Desecrator' from the 'Quake' game series… energy-based all-terrain (and amphibious) repulsor lift… plasma cannon… pintle-mounted secondary energy weapon… all done with Borg-style Necro/robotic dead-tech.

Ivan DBA08 Jun 2010 3:30 p.m. PST

The Akuyaku (it was the original "inspiration" for the Bauhaus Grizzly, to be charitable about it--frankly the Grizzly is a rip-off).

I kind of like the tank from Halo, but Bolos are my favorites!

All the Bolos
OGRE Mk III, IV, and V
Tron hovertanks
The tanks from Battlefield 2142

Rhoderic III and counting08 Jun 2010 3:45 p.m. PST

The Tachikoma and the Fuchikoma. Some might protest at my calling them tanks, but I do honestly think they are (baby) tanks despite being walkers. They're described as tanks (however inconsistently) in their Wikipedia articles, among other places.

And along the same lines, I also dig the Coyote Tankstrider from the Heavy Gear setting. It has both walker and tracked movement modes.

If the Tachikoma/Fuchikoma don't qualify, how about their cousin Bonaparte?

Adorable little treadlayer, although not as cool as the Bolos and Ogres are.

ming3108 Jun 2010 4:05 p.m. PST

Have always liked the 40K Eldar Grav tank(I am not a Panzee player BTW).They seem to get the best paint jobs too. picture

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut08 Jun 2010 4:16 p.m. PST

Destroid Monster from Macross. Yeah, I know it wasn't *exactly* a tank, but it was painted olive drab, right?

Thomas is a Tank ENGINE !

And he's not really fictional – IIRC all the (original) series engines were based on real engines.

The adventures may have been exaggerated a tad.

Pictors Studio08 Jun 2010 6:13 p.m. PST

I think my favourite is the Tau hammerhead.

Only Warlock08 Jun 2010 6:36 p.m. PST

"The adventures may have been exaggerated a tad."
I am shattered grin

But if I was you I wouldn't go around telling people Thomas is real.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER08 Jun 2010 9:03 p.m. PST

Bolos all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calico Bill08 Jun 2010 10:58 p.m. PST

Mk.I Landraider It just looks mean, even if totally impractical. After that, any of the "Renegade Legion" FASA tanks.

NoLongerAMember09 Jun 2010 2:41 a.m. PST

Second the Akuyaku!

Also the tanks from 'Things to Come'

Bun Bun from Ringo's Posleen books (yeah, I know, technically it's a big arty gun).

Ridiculous? Yes. Awesome Christmas present? Hell yeah!

Scorpio09 Jun 2010 8:10 a.m. PST

The HK-Tank from the Terminator movies.

CraigSpiel09 Jun 2010 8:37 a.m. PST

All marks of the BOLO.

Andrew Walters09 Jun 2010 8:43 a.m. PST

Mark V Ogre.

Or maybe the Fencer.

Or the Dopplesoldner…

Andrew

Cke1st09 Jun 2010 9:48 a.m. PST

Any of the self-aware Bolos.

Katzbalger09 Jun 2010 5:55 p.m. PST

Plenty of neat ones out there. I love the descriptions of the Slammers Blowers, the clean lines of the Ogres, and the elephentine look of the Halo Scorpion, but you've got to love the Mk XX Bolo.

"For the honor of the Regiment."

Rob

doug redshirt09 Jun 2010 6:18 p.m. PST

All the tanks from Valkyria Chronicles, especially the tank for the good guys.

goragrad09 Jun 2010 7:19 p.m. PST

All the Laumer Bolos.

Tertius10 Jun 2010 6:20 p.m. PST

Good poll!

I've always been partial to the Shadowsword from the 40K universe, and the Behemoth from Battletech.
