I'm going after a find of incredible historical significance, you're talking about the boogie man. Besides, you know what a cautious fellow I am.

Sherman, we are off to see Virginia.
Great Mr. Peabody!! Is it Virginia Mayo? Is it Virginia Madsen! Yum!!!
No Sherman, it is Fredericksburg, Virginia, the city by the river.
I'm getting a bad feeling about this!
Sherman, we are headed for Historicon 2015!
But, but, Mr. Peabody, there's no women!!!

That would have left all of Europe wide-open. The US had several divisions of troops and some air wings in Europe, backed up by NATO, but the Soviets had far more armor divisions and motorized troops ready to go and they were closer to the potential front lines than the US. There was a real fear of a brute force knock-out punch that would require nukes as the only possible response… and nukes were

Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize

Spooks arrive for the midnight spree
Creepy creeps with eerie eyes, start to shriek and harmonize
Grim grinning ghosts come out socialize

Rise as spooks of every size
