According to the novel Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, Vermicious Knids are space-dwelling amorphous blobs with one large eye. They can form themselves into various shapes of limited complexity. Knids will typically attack space vessels by forming into a rough tear-drop shape with a single, hard point, then dive-bomb this point against the vessel repeatedly until their blows breach the hull. Once inside, they will seek out and devour any living prey. They are semi-intelligent, having developed the ability to work in concert and even shape themselves into rough letters to spell out words, and will do so when first encountering human victims. However, the only word they know how to spell is "SCRAM," which they don't seem to realize is a warning. They have no known body orifices, but seem to absorb their victims whole. In space, their motive power is unknown, as they don't seem to create any reaction mass effect. Fortunately, they are susceptible to the effects of atmospheric re-entry (burning to ash), and therefore have never successfully attacked an inhabited planet (as far as is known).

The latter image is more in keeping with Roald Dahl's general description than is the first image.

Khurasan's Lime Goo have the wrinkly skin and one big eye thing down pat. If you want something less structurally complex sculpting them yourself should be pretty simple – I know doing those Awful Green Thing babies let me get the hang of "blob with eyeball" quick enough. The knids are a bit more size-variable than Awfuls, though.

Should be pretty easy wiyh a bit of sculpey… Add small beads for eyes. I always envisioned the 'Knids as on the large side, making this a very do-able project. As noted above, only canonical in space or in a thin atmosphere enviornment (I'm thinking spacehulk/starship troopers type game.) I have thought about doing this myself for some time, as a nasty surprise for the players in a GMed type game --but I'm not sure how many of them would get the reference (instead: "ummm, why are you using blobs of black sculpey twisted into threatening shapes?")
