"Samurai (Yea, not really any of the choices)"

I agree, I should have listed them b/t medieval and renaissance. For any further people who are going to list samurai I would choose "medieval" if playing pre-gunpowder games and "renaissance" if playing gunpowder period games.

Chuvak25 Apr 2010 9:32 p.m. PST

1. Late Empire Napoleonics
2. Mid Empire Napoleonics
3. Early Empire Napoleonics

A runner-up would be Late French Revolution & Consulate era Napoleonics.

Oh dear!

Chuey

P.S. – I might be able to be talked into trying a little more diversity …. like immediate post-Empire Napoleonics.

Thorfin126 Apr 2010 1:43 a.m. PST

Ancients particularly Aecheans, Hittites and such.

We're only allowed to name three aren't we?

"Middle Earth Mass Battles"

Should there be any other kind?

Scorpio29 Apr 2010 8:16 a.m. PST

Superhero! (which is kind of fantasy and scifi.)
Weird War II! (which is kind of fantasy and scifi.)
Post-apocalypse! (Sometimes with zombies.)

But really, as long as it's skirmish, I'll give it a go.

I hate being one without a preference, but I really don't. I find them all interesting (though some are more difficult to game than others). What I find, however, is that I'm tired of the most popular sub-areas (like late war Germans in WWII or Napoleonic French) and more interested in the little known or little gamed wars and campaigns – Spanish Civil War, Irish Rebellion, Riff Wars, South American Wars of Independence, etc.

JackWhite07 May 2010 1:05 p.m. PST

Renaissance: Eastern Europe -- Poland
ACW
Medieval: I'll second WotR and Samurai
