Anyone played/ know of these? They are cheap and have a campaign game!

Wow. First I've heard of them. $10 USD + shipping? Not bad.

BTW, if you are collecting WotR, you should check out Flower of Chivalry. Cool command rules and very simple game mechanics. The book comes with enough information to teach you about the WotR in a basic way. It has scenarios, army lists that cover back to the early Medieval period, and a campaign game. Worth a look, if nothing else, for the scenarios and information.

I have their FPW rules "To the Last Gaiter Button". It is a 'square bashing' type of game, with a table marked in squares. It also has a campaign system.

It's not a square-bashing type of rules.

Distance isn't an issue in the game as units are assumed to be just withing bow range – you merely announce that your unit is closing with the enemies facing them.

I must confess I don't actually 'get' these rules.

I'll have a look at them again and post more later.

My copy is with a friend, so here's what I can recall:

You can't really deploy your army the way you want to; your deployment is limited by the commanders you have. IIRC, each commander has a different rating and that determines how many pre-generated deployment/tactics you can choose from.

Anyway if you are interested in WOTR you can look up the latest (free) campaign and tabletop rules from The Perfect Captain.

In that case there is also a set of simple mapless campaign rules in #240 of Miniature Wargames magazine.
