I have been updating my blog about this project over the past year, but felt it was time to share it with the world. The table is for a participation game at Little Wars (Melbourne) at the end of May.

Lots more to do, but it's getting there!

What's Polyfilla? Is it like Elmer's Wood Filler?

I saw that under construction at OZHistoryCon. Very nice work and some interesting scenic construction ideas too.

Polyfila is a wallboard and gap filler, yes. I think similar products are called 'Spackle' in the US.

And yeah! Way good layout. Hope you have a blast with the game.

Looks very very good. Any details on the game itself? i.e who are the major protagonists, what are the objectives etc?

A little birdie told me there may be a light show involved as well, including a moving floodlight keeping a lookout for possible intruders? Given your tight schedule, this may be impossible to do now, but it's a great idea nevertheless!

Very nice board. Good luck with the deadline.

@Hongihika, the game is called Jurassic Reich, so that may give you an idea of the combatants – if not, take a look at some posters I did for it:

Basically, the Nazis have discovered a way of bringing dinosaurs back from extinction. Due to wartime shortages of fuel and other raw materials, they have proceeded to weaponise the dinosaurs. It is hoped that these new ptera-weapons will turn the tide of battle for the Axis forces and crush the Allies under their mighty feet.

A small group of highly trained heroes – the Dogfaced GIs – are sent in to destroy the training facility and rescue an American war correspondent (called 'Ginger' Snaps) who is being held in the castle.

And yes, lighting is indeed possible. A very generous friend built me a circuit that will give spotlights and a flickering flame effect, so I'm hoping to incorporate it into the table in time. Not sure about the searchlight though!

Cool, see you there Paul! I'll be the one hovering protectively over the table making sure no one rests their beers on it!!!

Here are some more pictures of the table as it stands this evening. Still a bit more to go, but it's getting there:
