Ive been considering doing a full-bore Sekigahara project for many years now but never got further than buying a few 10mm sample packs. I believe I bought several packs of Pendraken & Minifigs. As I recall, neither "wowed" me but I certainly preferred the look of the Pendraken. I know this scale (along with 6mm) has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years, but mostly in the same old departments (WWII, Napoleonic, ACW, Ancients, etc
). Nothing against those periods, but it always seems when a new scale catches on, samurai (and forget about Koreans or Ming!) are one of the last sets to be produced. Ive taken some time off of my 15mm samurai project (still trying to finish up troops for Nagakute at 1:40 scale) and I am considering selling off the few pre-1400 28mm Samurai I have (heresy, I know
) until someone makes some nice plastic 28mm samurai. Point being, I havent kept up with whats out their in the Eastern realms of mini gaming. So whats new, if anything? Any new 10mm (or 6mm) other than the 2 mentioned above? Has anyone even done Yi Koreans or Ming Chinese yet? I appreciate any news. If nothing new comes out by the time I get started with my Sekigahara project (hopefully later this year/early next), then I will probably either go with the Pendraken or even the Baccus 6mm which look surprisingly nice (at least on their website!). Cheers. |

Baccus 6mm are very nice indeed, I just got into them and painted up my first stands. They are soon to be followed by the 250 little dudes I have primed on my shelf. Cheap and fast to paint, and you can churn out hundreds in a week if you want to stage large battles. picture picture picture This means that I'm not so likely to do any 10mm or 15mm samurai any time soon. I'd be happier if there were some good Chinese and Korean lines out there in 6mm, but I haven't found any. |

Oh and I was stupid enough not to mention Irregular Miniatures. They have other Asians in 6mm, including Chinese of undisclosed era which would make for good opponents. They are slightly cheaper with a wider range but look like they have slightly less details. Cheap army packs, especially the starter packs with two opposing armies. irregularminiatures.co.uk I haven't bought any yet so I can't vouch for their quality, but I'm planning on picking some up. |

My painting standard isn't even close to Setsuko's, but I have a 6mm Samurai army from Baccus based on the Red Devils of Ii Naomasa link |

HumorousConclusion: I remember seeing your army before, but I couldn't find it when I started thinking about 6mm. It looks awesome, even though it's a bit daunting to imagine the amount of miniatures I still have to paint to be even near that size. :D |
