Some time ago Cacique Caribe created a master of a small 15mm building. I begun experimenting with it, while waiting for the resin castings, by casting it in very hard dental plaster.

Here are some pictures as shown on Dropship Horizon:

Usable as a desert dwelling or an alien bug hut.

What do you say ?

Very nice indeed! Definitely will give the sci-fi feel to your desert boards.

What if DAN created an AWESOME desert dwelling???

:) Looks great! Grats to CC on a nice design and also to PB for taking a customer design to market!

The 'settlement' as seen through the eyes of a bug predator…

Seriously, how would you paint them ?

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART16 Apr 2010 7:32 a.m. PST

I loved that last photo!!!

Hard and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewie on the inside.

I'd paint them either a desert sand (whether that's martian red or tatooine tan is up to you), or a dark brown-black (like P3 Umbral Umber).

For an 'At-night' look you could paint the skeleton dark and the walls an orange-ish color, then drybrush the entire thing with some dark paint… unless the finished product is hollow, in which case I might rig it with LEDs and actually light it up for real!

How is Piotr doing these days?

Dan, I hate you. You are too talented!

LOL.

I hope things improve for Piotr. Along with wishing him success in his endeavors, I was hoping to get some of the casts, and then use them to make more variants.
