Yeah the post says it best. Looking for Cowboys that are undead looking. Anyone know any companies for this?

doc mcb25 Mar 2010 4:48 p.m. PST

There's at least three, or were. The Great Rail Wars had a pack of 5 (three sculpts); they are huge, 30mm or so.

I believe Foundry has a pack, including some undead US Cavalry.

And somebody else, but I've forgotten the company.

jlstuht25 Mar 2010 5:31 p.m. PST

Didn't Eureka have a pack of undead cowhands?

fieldmarshallt25 Mar 2010 5:46 p.m. PST

Also, what are some good companies for terrian for Wierd West

How would the terrain be any different for Weird West? I would think that it would be the people/critters that would be weird.

Agree about the Foundry figures. Pretty darn good.

Wyrd Miniatures has a set of gunslingers -- they are 32mm, but probably fit well with the Rail Wars folks, and perhaps with Black Scorpion for normal folks.

"I can do skeleton cowboys if that helps?"

None of the images will load on your site. The pages just hang…

doc mcb26 Mar 2010 7:48 a.m. PST

SOME of FreddBlogs images DID load for me, others did not.

The skeleton Indian chief on the skeleton bison is cool.

doc mcb26 Mar 2010 7:50 a.m. PST

Actually, I think all but the first cowboy work for me.

NoLongerAMember26 Mar 2010 8:14 a.m. PST

Ok I can see issues with 2 of them, will correct that.

Hawgleg Publishing has a set of four 25mm undead cowboys and one dead cowboy marker for $10. USD Here's a photo: picture

By the way, in another thread ( TMP link ), Hexxenhammer provides the following photo and info on size comparisons:

The first two are the Hawgleg zombies (I bought them before Hawgleg bought the molds, can't remember who used to make them), the second two are Foundry, and the last two are Deadlands/Great Rail Wars by Jeff Valent.

You can see that the Hawgleg and Foundry match up well. They are kind of little compared to the Deadlands. This doesn't really bother me at all, but it might some people.

Some time ago, GW marketed a multi-part plastic set called 'Vampire Pirates of the Skeleton Coast'.

This contained 1 sprue from their 'zombies' boxed set, and 1 sprue from their 'Empire Militia' boxed set… (so although the VPotSC pack is no longer available, the "recipe" isn't difficult!)

Using these bits, you can put together a pack of ragged undead of early western appearance; some conquistador-looking, some of colonial appearance, armed with black-powder weapons.

Also, you can use the less clothed zombie components, together with the lower-tech weaponry (spears, bows, axes which can be trimmed down into tomahawks) to create that rarest of Wierd West critters – the Undead Indian!
