Hey guys,

I need some advice.. I want to start a SYW project for later this year (Austrians vs Prussians) but i'm having a hard time settling on 10mm vs 15mm… experiance in the smaller scales means I want to do 10mm….. but I do not like the Old Glory style. I'd rather go with Pendraken, but I seem to be stuck on the styles… does anyone know of pictures on the internet were I can see what March attack pose and March pose look like ? when I look myself I see a pose were the Infantry have their musket out in from their body and are holding it with both hands, honestly it looks silly and I cant get past the odd look to order them I'd rather have the normal look of against the shoulder and straight up.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

March attack is tight to the body in an upright position with Pendraken 10mm. If I were to do SYW, it is Pendraken 10mm I would choose, nice range and nice easy to paint sculpts.

I have no idea where that last post came from. Here's what I entered (post edit):

The link Connard Sage has recommended is a good one, and explains the poses pretty well.

I have samples, and am sold. They have good detail and are fairly well proportioned. I plan to do my battalions in 2 ranks ( a bit of a cheat, but one must pay some attention to economy) with the first "advance" and the second "march attack" or "fire" and "port musket". I may do a few with two "locked" ranks both firing.

Battalions of 40 figures should look pretty good, and I think I can turn them out at an adequate pace.

You'll probably want the Marching pose, but if you want to get in touch direct, we'll get you some pics or some samples.

Using Pendrakens 10mm figs in battlions of between 30 and 50 mounted in two ranks with cavalry squardrons of 12 figures mounted in two half companies looks fantastic. At 1 to 20 the period comes alive in 10mm. You still have a large enough table to do larger battles but the figures look like units on the table.

Take a look at Baccus 6mm figures, they are a large 6mm closer to 10mm, they have a nice 7YW range.

Thanks guys,

Lots of good info. I think I will go with Pendraken, still unsure about the differances in poses…. Thanks tho.
