Very nice 30mm Axis Recon Grenadier figures from Alderac Entertainment/Dust Studios:

The mysterious part is that there seems to be zero news on this at Alderac's site, and I cannot even find a site for Dust Studio.

As a plea- anyone in Europe who knows anyone in the gaming or miniatures industry, please tell them to post on TMP!

Dust is carried in the US through Fantasy Flight Games, who are notorious for slow releases. Current 'joke' is take the published release date and add 2d12+6 months for actual release date.

Waitaminnit… "Dust Tactics board-game"? Thought it was going to be a tabletop minis game like Anima Tactics?!?

No.

This is the long awaited Dust Tactics game that FFG was showing off a few years back.

30mm figs, semi-pre-painted.

Not loading for me at the moment…

Fantasy Flight lost the game and now AEG has it.

Looks like it may be pretty cool. I hope they release some preview of the rules at some point.

The Grenadiers look kind of cool, as do the mecha, but the rest of the figures leave a bit to be desired (going off the BGG site).

Here is a link to Paolo's site, no mention of it here either, though there are some nice things to look at.

Indeed the Dust miniature game property has changed hands to Alderac Entertainment Group, and the plans to run this on Rackham Entertainment's AT-43 engine (essentially) have reputedly also been shelved. It's touted as a "board game" now but it might be AEG's way of saying "tabletop game" (cf. Rackham's use of "collectible" in conjuction with Confrontation minis).

I think they went to Pre-Primed as opposed to Pre-Painted to save some production cost and avoid the expected harsh criticism of poor paint quality. Based on some of the pre-paint samples there were available last year I'd say this might be a smart idea. Hopefully they pass the cost onto the customer.

Providing the price is alright, I know what I'll be getting this summer.

Hope these are out by GenCon.
