In the Ruusian service there were лазаретные повозки / lazaretnye povozki / hospital wagons. One per battalion in 1812, for example, with a dedicated driver. I do not know of these as "ambulances" in the French concept. I had thought of them more as wagons for the transport of the supplies and equipment to support the battalion doctor.

Perhaps another colleague will confirm my understanding?
