All of these posts about Aliens and the dearth of anything inspiring to expand a Kiss Kiss Bang Bang collection motivated me to pull out a project that dates back to 2001, The X-Files/Delta Green/Hidden Invasion box of 1/43 scale black limousines, black hummers and yes even a black painted coast guard helicopter in 1/48 scale I resurrected from the trash heap of a hobby shop near U of I Champagne.

I have decided to complete my quest for a figure of the cigarette smoking man, C.G.B. Spender, the ubiquitous bad guy of the X-Files series (if one could really tell good from bad after 1999).

With all of this said and with so much time having passed, does anyone have a recommendation for a figure that resembles Bill Davis 15 years ago?

I realize to many he looks just like another "suit" but there is something unique about the character I would like to capture in "led" and paint.

This fellow looks like he might fit the bill:

He seems to have a cigarette and a cellphone in his hand, perhaps he's calling in his men in black.

Given a little bit of conversion work -- change the hand, tilt the head forward, add some heavier lines to the face -- he'd be spot on.

Oooh, Delta Green! If/when I get back into 28mm gaming, that is the genre I am going to run.

Gailbraithe, I think you've found him. I am placing the order immediately.

Thanks a bunch.

The figure is exactly what is needed. I will lengthen the legs a couple of millimeters with wire and putty.

Now the next three on the list. Any recommendations for figure for the Lone Gunmen? I reckon Frohike will need to be a 20mm figure.

Hasslefree's Woolsey would, with some slight modification, work for Langly. He just needs some hair extensions and coke-bottle glasses.

I have no idea where to find a decent Frohike or Byers.

Zoiks! Like, Scoob, where's my Mystery Machine?

It's right here.

You just have to paint it. 'fraid those hippie flowers don't come stock.

The van was a Volkswagen.

Which van? You've linked to the Lone Gunmen's van, we're talking about the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo, which AFAIK was not any sort of actual van.

But many kinds of vans can be painted to match:

Spender arrived – Very satisfactory. Langley arrived – I am adding hair with putty. Byers? a suit with a beard, no problem. Frohike……here's a challenge.

Any ideas? A dwarf? A biker? What?
