Hello Chaps,

Tonight I would like to complete my GWM early war minewerfer, a couple of questions what colour do you paint the shells?
Point: steel?
Middle: grey?
Base: brass?

Also what colour should the shoulder straps be for the normal ranks?
And does the officers collar and shoulder straps differ?

Many thanks for your quick replies,

Nick

I painted my shells Grey base with a steel tip, just larger vesions on the picture attached

Shoulder boards are black with red piping, depends if you want to depict an officer or non com.
a non com would have the same shoulder boards & a white piping on the cuffs & sleeve
for Officers just paint the shoulder board silver instead of black

Also early war mortar teams had a red oval badge high on the left sleeve
