When using this option how many skirmish stands are created by the removal of the two standard bases? |

Allen – The example on page 16 is breaking down an entire 4 stand unit into skirmish bases. There is an optional rule (bottom of page 74) that allows a six stand unit, such as a rifle unit in the Peninsula Army List, to deploy two stands as skirmishers to assist other units while the parent rifle unit fights as a four stand unit. I was wondering if this produced skirmish stands for only two other units or is it more than that? I suppose a parallel question is after you detach the two bases does the four stand unit continue to have an SK3 rating or is that reduced to SK2? |

You take away two bases and replace them with two SK markers. The parent unit retains its inherent SK value. |
