It was bad luck all around. Bad luck that the pirate ship had sunk off Clambake Beach all those hundreds of years ago, and even worse luck when the garbage barge dumped that nuclear sludge right on top of the wreck, and the skeletons of the evil pirates below. Rising up from the murky depths are the Terrors of Clambake Beach -- newly formed, they promptly march off to abduct attractive young women, and generally harsh the mellow of a bunch of kids just trying to enjoy their 60s lifestyle.

In other news, the planet is under invasion from horrible alien intruders, who have a variety of grisly weapons at their disposal, but none more terrible than the Munchers, ravenous creatures that will stop at nothing until they've stuffed everything edible, or nearly edible, in their mouths. Soon these diabolical bioweapons will surely cover the planet, for after every meal, they promptly move their bowels, and in that product are swarming countless baby munchers, ready to join the ranks!

These little bastards are small -- three of them on one coin! Small … but deadly.

Both packs will be released in a day or two. We think the beach terrors in particular will find all sorts of uses on the tabletop.

You get that, whatever it is, and I'll get the Sodium!

As if there wasn't enough sodium in all those hot dogs crammed in their mouths already!!!

Yeah, the munchers would be a fun twist for a Zombie game….

Uh-oh, looks like someone fed their mogwai after midnight.

Nope, wrong pop culture reference.

I haven't seen "Critters" in years. Need to add that to the Netflix list. Now to find an alien bounty hunter with huge 80's hair.

Someone needs to make a few packs of co-ed dancers in swimware – and the band. Got to have the band. And maybe a set of slumber party gals, although the swimware types might be suitable for that with the right paint jobs.

khurasanminiatures15 Mar 2010 1:09 p.m. PST

Yup, on it.

Not the band though, at least not right away.

Clibinarium, perhaps we can also help Crow, Tom and Mike sing the sodium song!

Dancers in swimware/undies would let us do so many other awful movie scenarios too. Horror of Spider Island springs to mind, and of course there's all those Gidget films.

If you (or anyone) is taking MST3K requests, I'd pay good money for the Satellite of Love in miniature. Make a fine centerpiece for a Full Thrust scenario.

khurasanminiatures15 Mar 2010 2:15 p.m. PST

Well, I plan to use them as dollies, basically. First they will come out in just their bathing suits, the teen hero, his spunky and virtuous girlfriend (in a modest one-piece, naturally), and then monsterbait -- voluptuous blonde in a bikini screaming her head off. I'll also make "officer Dave," a sheriff/local cop in early 60s summer police uniform.

Then the kids and the monsterbait will get street clothes, sculpted over the beach masters, shoes, etc.

MST3K is a tough one. If you only knew how I'd love to, but there is a small company out there whose sole reason to exist is to protect its interest in the MST copyright.

Steve Hazuka15 Mar 2010 2:32 p.m. PST

Yes with all the monsters, zombies and other badness have to have people running screaming into the night. Plus if you make them as you describe you could probably Zombifie some of them. Thats my plan already.

BEAUTIFUL!!

Khurasan Miniatures, you're really on to something here, and in 15mm! I still like 25/28mm, and there was a time when I didn't purchase anything but 15mm, but it's nice to see some very interesting subjects in that scale.

I'm providing a link to a webpage that sells not only N scale automobiles, but TT scale American vehicles, which is roughly in scale to 15mm figures. It would be nice if there were more choices in civilian automobiles, both in 15mm and 25/28mm, but I'm grateful in what's available so far, and hopefully someone (hint, hint) might come out with some more in the future. In the meantime, the cars on the webpage would be appropriate with the era of these monsters:

Keep 'em coming, Khurasan Miniatures! thumbs up

Battle Works Studios15 Mar 2010 5:28 p.m. PST

Handy link, Saginaw. A lot of those cars would be useful for pulp and between-the-wars gaming as well.

flooglestreet15 Mar 2010 5:41 p.m. PST

I think those beach terrors might make Chasch for Jack Vance's Tschai. Perhaps a little milliput to make the cranium higher.

Sodium? You guys get the sodium, *I'll* get the *Solothurn:*

I'm listening to some oldies right now, and suddenly the term "Vietnam pulp" flashed across my mind. Imagine these boogers meandering through an abandoned riverside village of hooches while a fireteam is looking in said village for "Charlie", unaware of what's in the bush. There are plenty of 15mm Vietnam troops and accessories to make it happen.

Now I won't tell y'all about how these "beachcombers" created some "snafu" on some uncharted Pacific atoll back during the "Big One" when the U.S. Marines and Japanese there took more than the normal casualties. wink

khurasanminiatures15 Mar 2010 7:28 p.m. PST

Hi guys, the Beach Terrors and Munchers are up for sale now.

Sloppypainter15 Mar 2010 8:32 p.m. PST

"Gidget gets munched" would make a great name for a game….heh heh heh heh. Saginaw…what a great idea! Talk about sending the grunt players into a complete state of freakout!

khurasanminiatures15 Mar 2010 11:02 p.m. PST

Yes Saginaw, I have approached a sculptor about making an early 60s car in both police and civilian mode, but that's a ways off -- over the past two months or so I've invested pretty heavily in sci fi vehicles, and need to recoup that first!

Smokey Roan16 Mar 2010 6:30 a.m. PST

Great stuff!

That is a genre (50's/60's beach bimbo horror) that would look great on a gaming table.

(You need the skeptical sheriff (Make him look like Alan Hale Jr.), and the "biker in leather jacket/hot rodding rebellious teen (who is 30) who saves the day" figures as well.)

Oh, and I think saw "Gidget Get's Munched", but is was on Cinemax late night? :O

khurasanminiatures16 Mar 2010 8:29 a.m. PST

I'd like to make a full range of humans, but as the creatures are usable in a whole variety of game settings I've been cranking them out first.

The ultimate horror, these beuts MAY be alien surfers from beyond the Fringe!

Don't forget the surf board, also needed as stowage for combat cars etc.
