I am putting together a laundry list of miniatures from various sources to build up a fairly diverse and interesting mob of big beasties. These are what I have found, but I am not sure of sizes…if any of you fine folks know the sizes and have other related suggestions I stand at the ready with note pad in hand:

etc. etc. more of the same, whatever I can find at a reasonable price. The main issue is size.

Is there a site that compares the sizes of the various collectible miniatures "monster" worthy?

The idea is to set up a game of monster battle (insert the game system) at the local game store.

I would prefer to use figures in the 3-5" range.

Any suggestions welcome…and yes I would also like to include the classics…Godzilla and the crew.

atomicray AT yahoo DOT com tag you're it! :)

GiantMonster14 Mar 2010 7:50 p.m. PST

I know that the 1st, 3rd, and 4th are roughly the same size and have the same size base which is the big one used for large Wizards of the Coast D&D and Star Wars miniatures. The second picture is on the standard size base for those games and is considerably smaller than the others. The 5th picture didn't show up.

Sorry I couldn't give you anything more specific.

@patron zero…sorry I mistyped… atomicraycafe AT yahoo DOT com

@giant monster…thanks, I appreciate any and all data! The fifth pic was cthugrosh link

I actually have the Cthugrosh figure.

I would say that all of the Monsterpocalypse monster figures are about equal to high grade gashapon figures although they tend to be a bit bulkier than the high grade figures.

Very cool…

Those buildings are looking like a bunch of fun.

link is this guy a giant tooth monster?

and what the Hellenistic Order is this? link

The whole Ultraman thing is wacky…most of the monsters remind me a great deal of Power Rangers lol.

Hey 28mmMan the pic that shows what you think is a giant tooth monster,is called Jamiya(something that sounds like that).

Anyway Jamiya was in the first Ultraman series and is in fact an astronaught, and something happens in space causing him to change into what you see as the monster.

For myself the first Ultraman and Ultra 7 i really like since the Monsters look pretty good and i have almost all the Ultraman monsters & some from Ultra 7 in the Gashapon/High Grade forms.

The later Ultraman series Monsters remind me more of the Power Rangers than the earlier series.

That second monster is a chimaira. A bunch of different monsters fused together during one of the series. If you look through the monsters you can see some of the ones before they fused.

A lot of the Ultraman monsters are like Power Rangers monsters and vice versa. I like them because of their often wacky designs.

I've got to agree with you Ken but as far as the wacky designs go it has to be from the later Ultraman series.

As i said the first 3 Ultraman series which are-

Ultraman
Return of Ultraman
Ultra 7

These series had pretty good looking monsters but then the wackyness took over in the series after these.

The 2 series i like most is Ultraman and Ultra 7 plus i have almost all the monsters from the first Ultraman series.

I was speaking generally, not about any individual series considering there over 25 different series to think about not including movies!

I think a few monsters from those first 3 series would have been considered weird for their time.

link "all" (as much as one can trust wiki :) the monsters from all the Ultraman franchise.

Not all noted have pics, but the ones that have figures seem to at the least.

Captain Gideon15 Mar 2010 5:30 p.m. PST

I can go along with that Ken with reagrds to some of the monsters from the first 3 Ultraman series.
