recently got the tumbling dice jaguar aircraft but it carries what appears to be bombs on the four corners of the fuselage (like a f15 would carry sparrows)but any pictures i have seen shows the jaguar with a single bombrack positioned in the centre and further back on the fuselage. are these objects bombs or something else?

the mirage 5 has 2 bombs positioned under the air inlet vanes at the front of plane. pictures i have seen show 1 rack centre of fuselage half way back ,same question as above are they something else

As far as I am aware the Jaguar did not have pylons/mounts to take bombs or missiles as you describe. That layout is found on the Tornados, but not on the Jaguar (happy to be corrected though).

I also don't think that the Mirage 5 has mounts as you describe, but the Mirage 2000 does.

The Wiki page has a plan view diagram showing the hardpoints: link

5 hardpoints in total, 4 on the wings, one under fuselage.

Yep the Jag' is wrong, however the Mirage V is right. The fuselage racks will only take bombs, I think they are a bit far forward but I'm not sure.

Are you sure they are "on the corners" as you say or could they be on a centerline Multiple Ejector Rack ( MER ) [See the section titled Ejector Racks here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardpoint for more info.]

It could be possible that the Jag in question is carrying an MER loaded with 4 not the maximum of 6 bombs or missiles. Just a thought. Did the RAF even use MERs?

thanks guys
tom definetly not mer rack on jaguar, bombs? 1 each four corner
fatman pictures i seen form mirage v shows them way further back .maybe the israeli copy of the mirage v have racks in this position i know the kfir has .maybe i should paint and use this mirage v as israeli only

As mentioned above the Jags in RAF service only had one fuselage hardpoint, usually taken up with an external fuel tank(or a recce pod on 2 & 41 squadrons). You couldn't fit hardpoints on the edges as that's where the cannon were.
