Does anyone have any side by side comparisons (photos) of the new Blue Moon figures in 15 mm next to Peter Pig and Minifig figures – both Pirates and wild west are of specific interest.

Thanks.

The G.

G,
I compared my Blue Moon pirates to a peter pig Ak-47 fig,
a good head taller.
I have some minifigs on the way and hopefully should be
able to compare by the end of next week.

I put my WWI BM figs next to my CD 15mm figs, they were about a head taller if that helps.

Yep, Scott's assessment put me right off the idea: no sale.

15mm plus a head *ain't* 15mm.

The pirates are the perfect size for me so I bought them all. Don't care if they are taller than others.

CPBelt,

I agree with you completely. Love those BMM Pirates!!!

I recently got some of each of those companies Wild West minis. Here are comparison pics. Lousy paint job and poor photography optional. :)

Left to Right: Same smaller Blue Moon 15mm Bandido, same Minifigs & Peter Pig Lawmen w. sawed-off shotgun (but I added another base piece to the Peter Pig Figure to equalize height)

Hope this is helpful. I'm going to get more of the Blue Moon 15s. I like them a lot, but they are bigger than my Peter Pig and Minifig minis.

How tall are the average Blue Moon figs, from the soles of their feet, to their eyes?

Luckyjoe13 Mar 2010 2:31 p.m. PST

They're about 17-18mm from soles of the feet to eyes.

Thanks for the info.

I thought so, since from the pics they look pretty much like 18mm – 20mm figs to me.

Thanks Luckey joe. You really did us a service.

I don't care, I'm ordering all BMs, and all minifigs western line anyway, I think. I'll do some smoke and mirrors with the bases or something, but too cool of figures, and to few makers to let a head height difference (wowo, that's big) get in the way. :O

I wonder how 1/108 scale (exact)buildings will look with Blue Moons? (that's the scale I'm using for all 15m m scratchbuilds now. Why? becuase I have a scale ruler for that scale, mostly :) , and it looks good with my figs.

Thanks, Smokey. I just got some H/O scale resin buildings from Jerry's Hobby Junction. I think H/O is 1/87th, and the Blue Moon minis scale really well with those, better I think than the true 15s I have.

I wonder how these compare in size:

I asked the folks at Thoroughbred a similar question sometime over the last year. They indicated to me that their figures were true 15mm. If the Blue Moon sizes are as indicated above they will be larger ala AB.

However, Kerry Jang mentions he used Minifigs,AB and Thoroghbred together in this diorama:

and he responded in an email;
"I must have bought every brand of 15mm(ish) figures for the thing. The Thouroghbred figures are a good match for the AB ones, and are in a lot more handy poses for ships. They convert easy and very well made. The Minifgs ones are smaller, but they had some interesting poses. I used them anyways as people are different sizes so a few smaller folks work well. The minfigs are less detailed, but well made."
